Gil Mantera's Party Dream

Imagine a homoerotic interpretive-dance tribute to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. With guitars. That pretty much sums up Gil Mantera's Party Dream live. The duo's first DVD captures two sweatbox club shows from Chicago; the only thing missing from this concert souvenir is scratch-and-sniff stickers. Three songs in, you'll be glad there aren't any. The disc features commentary by frequent tourmates Grand Buffet, whose Lord Grunge proclaims, "Gil Mantera is like a powder keg. There's times he gets so angry, I think his head is going to explode. There he is, playing with his boner and putting a beer bottle in his ass." There's no faking that level of art.
