For anyone who has read Terry Pluto's fantastic The Curse of Rocky Colavito, the misguided decisions of Frank Lane back during his tenure with the Tribe are no surprise. Freaking incompetent.
Hardball Times, thanks to the magic of the Way Back Machine, every once in awhile likes to look back at a team and a year and see what might have happened had things transpired differently. Not adding pieces. Just not making moves that were made.
Today's attempt looks at the 1961 Tribe and the year the Indians traded not only Rocky Colavito, but also Norm Cash, Roger Maris, cutting Hoyt Wilhelm, and more.
