Press Release Claims People Care About Third Eye Blind

We've received three press releases in the past hour notifying us that Third Eye Blind's new album accidentally leaked online.
We're dubious. It's not that we don't believe Ursa Major can be found online. We just don't believe that anyone gives a fuck.
Apparently, this "accidental" leak has prompted the band to officially release the album (its first in six years) on Monday — one full day before it was supposed to come out.
Says frontman Stephan Jenkins: "I leave the country and my album ends up leaking. I was in Jakarta performing for the fine citizens of Indonesia after their devastating terrorist attack -- I can't speak more highly of the country." (Yeah, we too are wondering what the fuck this has to do with anything.)
He continues: "And to those leakers who posted the wrong album, well, shame on you for being lazy. You guys know the lyrics and presentation are important to us. Rock on!"
Yes, his final words are "Rock on!"
If you actually care about Third Eye Blind and want to hear the album legally, the band is streaming it on its MySpace page. The rest of us can just carry on with our day by listening to something good. —Michael Gallucci

3eb are great. They are pretty much one of the best bands of the 90's. Only the people who actually listened all the way though their Self Titled album will tell you this (and not just heard 2 singles).
i have an idea: do some research on a band and their fan base. third eye blind has been selling out concerts for their entire six year hiatus. go listen to some damn music befofe you sit here and act like a music snob. these guys are unbelievably talented

Yes, Pat, I'd like to buy a clue? The band obviously has several fans who care about them otherwise they wouldn't be one of the most requested groups at college-level venues in the country. And if nobody did give a damn, you wouldn't have gotten your three press releases--obviously there is some concern there, but I suppose you were too busy listening to an unknown local group named Waterband and eating fucking pancakes to take the time to do your job properly. Congratulations. And, it's nothing against listening local and groups like Waterband, I'm sure they're just peachy, but mind your manners young man.
Give you one guess who the most requested band at colleges has been the last 2 years...that's right, Third Eye Blind. Way to completely ignore the population that cares the most about music. Maybe do a little research instead of writing a completely biased article.

Wow. I know it is easy to pick on Third Eye Blind when all you know of their music is that radio massively overplayed that doot doot doot song they had, but if you would get your head out of your ass, you would know that they have put out some of the best pop alternative rock music ever made. For examples see (The Background, Motorcycle Drive-By, God of Wine, Wounded, and Slow Motion). They have also been cited as influences on some pretty big emo and modern rock groups and are one of the most requested bands on college radio as many others have pointed out.
I hear Blink 182 has a new album coming out soon, you should start writing a trollish article now so that you can get more hits for your site when it comes out.

Wow you obviously haven't done your research, which is pretty sad considering you are a journalist and all. Anyways, Third Eye Blind has a huge, loyal fan base that has been around since their start. If you'd bother to listen to anything besides their major hits then you'd be able to hear the amazing lyrics behind all of the songs and you too would appreciate them. Next time, before you write an article about a band, take the time to get to know them. Yes, people care about the release of Ursa Major. I've been counting down for months. I'd be offended but..come on 3EB fans...this article comes from someone who covers the music scene in Cleveland. It's not exactly a city that turns out talented artists, bands, etc. The opinions of a blogger in a Rust Belt city in the Midwest, isn't quite an authority on music and the trends in alternative/pop alternative music. Sorry to those 3EB fans who are from Cleveland - not exactly hating on your city..just the merit and relevance of this Gallucci dude. 3EB's music is far more advanced and creative in terms of alternative tunings, cadence, melody, and lyrical content - than so many of today's "top" bands. Some people just don't have the capacity or music IQ to understand the genius of 3EB.

I suppose I'm not surprised that you don't personally get the 3eb thing, I think a lot of the fans have run in to this attitude over the years, which might be why so many of us are angry about it. But really, you might have done better to say you are surprised anyone still cares, not that no one cares, since clearly that statement was, ah, incorrect. #1 on iTunes and all that - hard to argue with the facts, really.
