Four-year-old local hard rock/metal quintet 3SO will officially release their debut CD, Roadmap, to the Soul when they play at Roc Bar Cleveland at 8 p.m. tomorrow.
Admission is $5 and includes free food (OK, probably bowls of popcorn, but still …).
The band’s nu-metal-like tracks — like “Betrayed” and the slower, more arena-ready “Don’t Have to Suffer” — feature declamatory vocals, alternation between singing and howling, tortured lyrics and lots of loud/soft contrasts.
They’re clearly going for mainstream metal appeal, and were chosen by WMMS to perform at Cruefest at Blossom Music Center this past July. —Anastasia Pantsios

Wow. Kinda rude statement about the "Popcorn" for food. I got there and ate a ton of great food cooked out on the patio grill! In fact I had a GREAT time, ate a bunch and enjoyed 3SO. They are the real thing and I'm glad I could see them before they go to LA or Hollywood or wherever great bands go. I think you owe them an apology for cracking on what was the best CD party I have ever been to. Their music is what Rock is supposed to sound like. And what a show!!!! My life has changed since I discovered them. They are actually great guys, enjoying life and definitely enjoying music. And they even take the time to party with the people. I'm hooked on their new CD.
I was also at the show and it was a great time for all, they had a great cookout with burgers and hotdogs for everyone and yes they were all FREE. They left the crowd begging for more and more they kept on giving. Not only once but 3 times.
I agree that you owe this band a apology and some respect. Were you even at their show? If not then maybe you should have went and seen just how much their fans old and new love them. Maybe their not your type of music but there are a lot of us out there that love this band and can seem them going places. They are one of the best Rock bands in the state of Ohio and they aren't to good to mingle and interact with their fans.
It was a awesome show and looking forward to seeing them 9/26 at the Iron Saddle in Akron.
