I am transplant to this area from South Jersey. The rolls and meat are the closest you will get to the city here. The sandwiches had a good amount of meat. The manager was friendly. Wish they offered a cheesesteak hoagie or chicken cheesesteak hoagie like back home. I did recoil in horror when my husband put mayo on his sandwhich but I guess they have to do that for the uninitiated. Now if only they could open a Philly Soft Pretzel Factory next door.
Went there last night for husband's birthday dinner. The food was pricey but the portions were generous. I enjoyed the restaurant's take on tater tots. The steak was reportedly delicious and cooked to order (rare), but the cedar plank salmon was average. The house salad was good to begin with but the red onion overbeared the taste farther into the dish. The service was extremely friendly and they served us complimentary champagne for the birthday. Overall, a good place to dine with others and take family, but a few notes short of fantastic.
Quiet, laid back and easy to relax in this bar. They have odd hours lately, but it's always enjoyable when they are open. Dixie Fried plays there often and is a wonderful band.
Lots of strange stuff you won't find anywhere else.
Ordering off the menu, haven't been dissapointed. The lunch buffet, however is not very good. Very small selection and bland dishes. The Indian buffet on 130th blows its dorrs off. Whoever raved about the lunch buffet obviously was the owner.
No seating at this location as of 3-25-11. Carry-out only while awaiting code variance from city to open dining area. Cash only at this location for now.
Vieng's owners also own four other Thai restaurants in the greater Cleveland area (Thai Gourmet and Pad Thai - two branches each)...While the food is very good, be careful about using a gift card!! There is no reciprocity among their locations!! A Vieng's gift card CLEARLY states on the back that it is redeemable at their four other locations, but when we went to Thai Gourmet (Rockside Road) and tried to use it they would not accept it due to a "computer issue." After we reluctantly paid for our meal in full, the waiter suggested we call the manager at Vieng's for an explanation. After calling Vieng's a second time (my first call went unreturned), manager Ricky told me that their computers do not link up to each other and gift cards can only be used at the restaurant where they are issued. He apologized, said he wished they hadn't printed the cards that way, said it's been an on-going problem, and pretty much made no attempt to make amends despite my complaints. Totally frustrating!
The food was very good, but the service was extremely disappointing. We were a party of 7 on a Friday night (with a reservation). Service was sooooo slow, from the very beginning of the night. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks, had to ask for bread - no bread plates on the table. Everything we asked for took forever to get. Some of us had our salads come out before our appetizers. Others got both appetizers and salads at the same time. And one person in our party got his appetizer with his meal. We were in the restaurant for 4 hours. We were never given a wine list or offered a dessert menu. Like I said, the food was good, but the service was horrible.
To many processed foods for my taste. To many drunks in the evening hours. Good service, fair price. Doesn't beat Luchitas when it comes to being real. Nuevo is to Americanized!
The food is excellent, and the waitstaff is quite pleasant. But that is about it. The atmosphere is less than upscale and the place seems to be haunted by a weird and slightly offensive odor usually around the bar. I have been here on many occasions and it is usually there. Also i found the male bar staff to be quite rude and abrupt, although the female bar staff was always nice and helpful. Just a suggestion, order from the female bartenders. But overall the food is excellent, and worth going.
You should go! Its a nice place to get sandwiches, burgers, and Irish food. Great selection of Irish brews on tap. Casual and comfortable. The interior is dimmed and has wood everywhere. The prices are very reasonable. Just a great place to chill after work r Friday night. Awesome happy hour specials where food is only a couple of bucks and drinks are very cheap.
A lot of the food was frozen previously, like the calamari rings. I don't kow how much they hand dip, but they do the shrimp, which is worth going. Prices are good, you get large servings with salad and sides. Our waiter was very attentive and full of good humor. Its by no means gourmet but good if you want some fried seafood, much better than places like Red Lobster or McCormick and Schmicks or any other chain. Very casual atmosphere.
I think this place is better than the standard Mexican place. Food seems to be fresh and there are daily specials. Portions are huge. The salsa is really good, its made fresh and is chunky. Menu is more authentic, for example, with mole and fresh cilantro in dishes. If you like Mexican this is a cut above the rest.
Excellent value, can't find cheaper pizza or homemade pastas anywhere. Pizza is crisp and super yummy, though above is correct, toppings aren't fresh. Pasta is though!
Ran out of Christmas Ale, Holey Moses, and baked pretzels this past weekend. I find it upsetting when a brewery that makes its own beer-on site- and distributes throughout NE Ohio runs out of its signature drink for the season. And what's a brewery with out pretzels? Not the first time they've run out. This place needs better management to keep it consistent. Service is hit or miss, you never know what they're out of, its overpriced, but great atmosphere and great beer.
Just a chain restaurant, putting out a gimmick of changing the menu twice daily. Its the same menu day after day, just a lunch menu and a dinner menu. I ordered shrimp cocktail, which is the epitome of a seafood restaurant, and it was slimy and tasted weird, bleachy. We've been here twice in Cleveland, once in Atlanta, its just a little higher scale Red Lobster. There are much better seafood places in Cleveland. I figure the people who think its awesome have never had good seafood.
Don't think this is award winning pizza, but it is satisfyingly good. Pick whatever, doesn't matter because it will still be on yummy crust, great sauce, awesome cheese. Screw the chain pizza shops when you can get REAL pizza!
Definatly way above average Chinese food. Not greasy with the same base as everywhere else. The service is kind and happy to help with any special requests. Nice looking restaurant. Menu is familiar but so much better than any take uot you ever tried.
Great old building very cozy, unless seated in the beer garden in the winter- only nice in summer. Food is decent though overpriced and inconsistent. Bread pudding is delicious (when hot). Beer is the best. The place has the potential to be great but fails with inconsistency, running out of menu items, serving lukewarm food. New menu items would help, more veg options.
Flavorful Mid East style food. The best hummmus, smooth and garlicky. Tabbouli is fresh. Many vegetarian options that are delicious. Favorites are the shwarma, falafel, chili, lentil soup, pita pizzas, spinach salad with their homemade balsamic, and fresh fruit smoothies. Everything is exploding with flavor and inexpensive. Stylish interior but very casual.
