Re: “Herb's Tavern

Well the prices have gone up and the quality of food has gone down. Choices in the beer selection have also dwindled. The "new" staff is less then polite. Since Kim Brugh took over the bar she has tried to turn it into a bistro instead of the neighborhood bar it is. I would recommend any other establishments down the block. I have been a regular at Herb's for over thirty years, and I will never go back.

Disappointed with my meal of linguine with red clam sauce. Way to watery and lacked sufficient amount of clams and sauce. The salad and bread was good. My wife's meal, eggplant parm was good. Her girlfriend's choice of chicken parm was too dry. Will not go back. Over hyped

When the hell is this place open!? It doesn't say on the scene magazine doesn't have The Glass House hours, Scene website doesn't have The Glass House Hours. even the glasshouse WEBSITE doesn't have its hours!!! Get it together people! Put the store hours on your ad's!

This place used to be great, but like most restaurants has gone down hill. Chicken pad thai was totally dyed red. I believe this is a way to hide low quality chicken. There was no cilantro and the chicken portion added up to a fraction of an ounce for both of our dinners. The flavor was bland. My girlfriend hardly ate any of her meal. The waiter, who claimed to be the owner, asked if we want a box for her remaining slop and I said she does not like it. We were then charged full price. I asked the owner for a refund and I was given three dollars, not even half the cost of her meal. Do not waste your time on food that is not fit for animals. I have been a customer since the early nineties and will never go back. I received this awful food and service January 30th 2014 at approximately 4:00 pm. We can make better pad thai at home and I have had better in the area.

Walked into the kitchen at the Chagrin and Solon locations and they are GROSS! Dust and dirt everywhere, floors that felt like they have not been cleaned in months and chemicals close to where food is served and platted. YIKES - stay away from this place!

It was very crowded for the halloween party and we wanted to sit down and we noticed the mgr moving a reserved sign from one table to another. I asked if we could sit at the vacated table and he said yes. He mentioned the table he was reserving was for the owner. So we sat at the vacated table. A little while later an irate woman comes up to the table yelling at us telling us the table was reserved and we needed to move. She was slamming her drink down and acting very much like a spoiled brat. We tried to explain the situation and that her table had been moved but she wouldn't listen and kept yelling. The mgr came up, showed her and apparently the owner where they were to sit. No apology, no "oops my bad" nothing from anyone, even the mgr. my friend goes up to the couple a bit later and says how rude the whole thing was and how we all deserve an apology and is that how you show good customer service. The owner pretty much said he didn't care if my friend and her little friends never came back (in apparently more interesting language). The girl started her tirade all over again. I couldn't believe an owner could be so rude and dismissive of the people who put money in his pocket.

Terrible service had the volunteer guy following you all night harassing you all night and walking around the party very unprofessional I believe if you pay for a hall you would enjoy your party but instead your watching this maniac to see what hes doing all night

This bar used to be a fun mixed club that you had fun drinking and dancing however, not no more it has turn into a punch palace police there every weekend, its not longer a mixed group of people a lot of underage people and they only play rap music now...

We won't be going back to Bumpers in Mentor for All you can eat crab legs. We had the worst service ever. Except for the bus boy who did an excellent job of checking in to see if we had any plates he could take away. Unfortunately, there were none because we couldn't get food. Went there for all they want you to eat crab legs. Waited 40 minutes for our first order and 35 minutes for our second order. Paid our bill and left. Save your money and go to Pickle Bills

Customer service is horrible! The techs have attitude problems. It's too bad had the customer service been acceptable I would have kept going back. I won't ever go back. I even contacted them about my experience they ignored it. Most businesses who want to keep them coming back will almost automatically contact the customer if there is a discrepency. Not them? They would rather ignore customer satisfaction.

By the way, As an addendum to my earlier post, Rhonda is gone from this bar and has been for several years. She now runs another bar nearby with her brother. It is much quieter, much smaller and has much less drama.

RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The person with whom I spoke stated that no same day openings were EVER available because they were SUCH A GREAT PLACE and no one ever cancelled???. While trying to negotiate an available day in the following weeks - she was alternately rude and patronizing. I am a busy professional trying to get a massage, not beg for meeting with the president of the USA. I indicated I would have to call back to schedule something in the future. She then stated for me to not bother and Hung upon me. I am always polite and never raise my voice or say things I would not repeat in public to anyone. I assumed I had just gotten a disgruntled employee- so I called back and asked for the manager. This person stated she was the manager and stated that they did not need my business and hung up on me for the second time. As this was a 3 session $89.00 groupon, I called groupon directly, who apologized and refunded my money with no problems. Thank you groupon. I would stay away from this place. They obviously are not doing so well if their managers do not understand customer service and they do not have enough staff to answer phones.

I wanted to share the absolutely HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE treatment that I received earlier today at Brasa Grill. Perhaps the all time worst customer service that I have ever received at any business of any kind.

I drove about 30 miles into Cleveland to use my Groupon that I purchased for this restaurant. $40.00 in dining purchased for $20.00. Now let it be known that I have worked in the Daily world since Groupon only had 12 cities active. After reviewing all of the “Fine Print”, I made a reservation for one through Open Table since the restaurant has no one answering the phone during the day. I sent an email through their web site letting the restaurant know that I would be dining with the use of my purchased Groupon. Again no one to answer the phone!

When I walked into the restaurant I was told by the host that he did not think that I could use my Groupon. I asked why and he said he would get the manager. A young lady came out and told me that I could not use the Groupon because I was “dining alone”. She said that there had to be another guest “paying for their meal” and they “couldn’t just honor the Groupon with no one else buying anything”! WHAT?!?!?!?!?! Then she blamed it on Groupon for not putting it in the deal?!?!?!

Nowhere on the Groupon, not in the description of the deal, nor in the “Fine Print”, did it state that was the how the deal was structured. I specifically asked this manager to show me on the Groupon where it said that or anything that even sorta’, kinda’ hinted at that. She said “it doesn’t say that”. So again I stated “then you need to honor this Groupon that I purchased and drove almost an hour to use”. It’s actually the law according to Ohio statute regarding couponing.

Now I have never been to this restaurant and was excited to try all of the steak that they are famous for. Perhaps I may have come back with a bunch of friends after a positive experience but they in stead chose to save $20.00 by sending me away. What this ignorant or poorly trained manager failed to realize is the fact that I own three different businesses and work in the Social Network world. Through Facebook alone I have access to over 50,000 people. Did she actually believe I’d just go away?

So I called Groupon Customer Service. The CS rep was STUNNED by Brasa’s handling of this. He looked up the deal and said there is absolutely no reason for them to have treated me the way that they did and absolutely should have honored the Groupon.

So if you are looking to be treated as though a restaurant has absolutely no interest in creating a relationship with you and converting you to a repeat customer then Brasa IS the place for you. But if you are like any normal person and EXPECT to be treated with respect and as though your repeat business is desired then stay as far away from this restaurant as possible.

Good music, average food, similar to Denny's, probably about the very worst service I've had in my life. We spent over $100 for 2 people and we couldn't even get anybody to stop over and ask if we wanted a refill on the water. We made reservations several days in advance and they gave us the worst seats in the house even though it was basically empty when we got there. We asked if we could move and the server said I'll see what I can do but never did anything even though there continued to be empty tables and people wondered in with drinks and just sat down in the better seats.
We were there on New Year's Eve by the way. Right before midnight the server was bringing everybody champagne and she said "Does anybody need champagne?" and I said "We do" and she said "You'll have to go to the bar and get it."
I was ready to cry when we left. I don't know what we ever did to them except go in and spend our money. We even left a 20% tip.
I would never, ever, ever go back.
