Re: “Brandt Gallery

This Friday, Feb. 11, Brandt Gallery will host the opening rececption for Larry Zuzik, perhaps one of the best draughtsmen in Northeast Ohio. Anyone with an interest in contemporary portrait and figure drawing will find it well worth the trip to Tremont for a glimpse of the work from this unheralded yet prolific artist.

Re: “Milton's Lounge

I have been coming to Milton's Lounge for several years. It stands apart from bars of its type. It caters to a wide variety of customers from a older crowd after work up until about 9pm and younger crowd during the later hours until closing. It is the type of place the makes you feel welcome. The bar owner is really nice and appreciates his customers. He has free fish and chicken every Friday at 7pm to show his appreciation. Not to many bars you can go to and get anything free these days. I go there for the karaoke on wed. night mostly but it is a place I could go everyday if time allowed and my pockets permitted. I must say that is my favorite pub.

Re: “Belinda's Nightclub

Clevelands westside premier latin club for the salsa lover. They have local bands and guest bands from Puerto Rico on weekend nights, also open daily. Fairly reasonable drink prices and authentic spanish foods on occasion, also chips available for snacking. The club is split with two sides. The main bar room has pool tables and is more brightly lit with side tables and the other side is the ballroom dimly lit with a large dance floor, many tables and small serving bar and a large band area. Free during the week and a cover charge on the weekend during band nights. Mostly caters to a spanish crowd, but have bi-lingual workers at the drink areas. Not the best location, but fairly safe and secure inside.

Re: “Milton's Lounge

I AM NOT A PUB PERSON BUT I MUST ADMIT I DO ENJOY GOING TO MILTON'S LOUNGE. I ESPECIALLY ENJOY THE AFTER THE WORK CROWD THAT COMES IN BETWEEN 4 AND 7. IT IS A VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE FILLED WITH WHITE COLLAR AND BLUE COLLAR TYPES ALIKE. THEY EVEN HAVE WIFI SO I CAN BRING MY LAPTOP. THE DRINK PRICES ARE MORE THAN REASONABLE AND THE BEER IS VERY COLD. I HAVE NEVER MET A MORE CORDIAL AND FRIENDLY BAR OWNER ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. IT TRULY NOT THE TYPICAL PUB AND I HAVE BEEN MADE TO FEEL LIKE PART OF THE FAMILY. CHEERS TO YOU MR. MILTON FROM CWR

Aliens were great! Loved the cover of "White Rabbit" and their originals as well. There were great the past few years as Yield on Mars and they are even better as Aliens!

Re: “Cory Recreation Center

Sista Jewel is the best at what she does!! Not only has she taught her three daughters the art of African Dance but, she has also taught a group of children belonging to Peace in the Hood's Peace Camp, as well as my two daughters (ages 6 and 11), at no charge! Now THAT is love and dedication to what she does... Not only is she patient and highly talented but, she also has very high energy and is captivating to watch. I am excited to part of such a rewarding session from a Master! Thanks Mama Jewel!

Re: “Main Street Cupcakes

Their claim to fame is a pure focus on cupcakes. As such, I anticipated cupcakes that were overwhelming to the senses (larger than normal, frosting and beautiful decoration, deep moistness, and fine paper wrapping). Instead, what I found were plain jane cupcakes that might as well be sold at the local grade school bake sale and no better than Betty Crocker. The primary selling point of Cupcakes on Main is the charming location and overhyped marketing.

As a Hudson resident, I've been their multiple times, each hoping that finally I will walk away impressed. Instead, I have a ho-hum cupcake and walk away wishing I spent my money at the dessert counter in Hienes Village Market.

Re: “Fat Casual

Best BBQ around! Since this place opened I refuse to get ribs from anywhere else! I drive an hour for it, so it's completely worth the drive from wherever you're from! Fabulous food, fair prices, and friendly faces; you will not be disappointed. Definitely Bella approved!

Re: “Romeo's Pizza

Mr. "Czar" I am an ex-employee of Romeo's Pizza & having worked for 2 of the 3 different owners & knowing Bob, I'd like to set the record straight for the public so they know the TRUE Romeo's Pizza story, because your information frankly, is wrong. Around 1996 (I think) a nice guy named Bob Normile bought a troubled pizza business called "JW's Pizza" on the corner of Fenn & Pearl; he then closed that company & founded "Romeo's Pizza & Pasta". A few years later he sold the business to a couple of nice guys named Chris & Rich who owned & ran it as "Romeo's Pizza & Pasta" & did well. Then in 2001 they decided to sell the business to Sean Brauser. When Sean bought the business, he decided to close "Romeo's Pizza & Pasta" wanting to focus more on pizza so he founded a new company simply called "Romeo's Pizza". Then with a redesigned logo (based on the original), new & improved dough & sauce recipes and many new TOP OF THE LINE ingredients like the new pepperoni for the existing Butcher Shop, Sean felt he had "A HIT" so he starting going to competitions & his new Butcher Shop won "Best Pizza in the Mid West" in 2002! Then in 2004 Romeo's Pizza's new Butcher shop won "Best Pizza in the Mid West" again!, "Best Pizza in Medina County" & Sean's new "Great Ranch & Potato" pizza won "Best Gourmet Pizza in the United States" in New York city!

The list of awards this company has won since Sean bought it changed the name, logo, menu focus, ingredients & joined forces with his partner Jeremy Galvin is amazing but too much to type here so go to their website if you want to read it all.

But at least now you all have the TRUE story.

Re: “Dreamer's Bar & Grill

Been here several times. Drink prices are fine; especially specials. Ladies night is a killer on Friday's. Both the upstairs and downstairs party halls are decent; depending on what you're looking for. There's a lot of room and the separation of the downstairs from the upstairs bar (along with its part room, when open) is like two to three places in one. Provides for different atmospheres depending on your mood and what you're there for. Given time to get it off the ground and this could be a great place to be.
