Quiet, laid back and easy to relax in this bar. They have odd hours lately, but it's always enjoyable when they are open. Dixie Fried plays there often and is a wonderful band.
By the way, As an addendum to my earlier post, Rhonda is gone from this bar and has been for several years. She now runs another bar nearby with her brother. It is much quieter, much smaller and has much less drama.
I have been going to this place for a while, as has my whole family. We don't "Hang out" in there, but we are pretty regular visitors, or we were. That place has turned into a complete dive in recent months. The police are in there at least 2-3 times a week. Mike has become completely unstable, for whatever reason, and DOES NOT appreciate his customers, nor does he care what is happening in his bar. He has left this woman he has been having relations with run the bar. My daughter Apryl(the hippie chick who loves EVERYBODY) was violently attacked in there on Friday by Mike's girlfriend(I believe her name is Stacy) and her extremely large and angry female offspring. They mistook her(because they were COMPLETELY bombed out of their minds) for another girl named Jessica and they waited for my other daughter to leave for a minute, then they stormed the DJ booth. It culminated with Buddy(the AWESOME Karaoke DJ) getting punched in the face(by Stacy's son) son) trying to defend my daughter while he tried to tell these OBVIOUSLY drug/alcohol addled women that they had the wrong girl. By the time my other daughter came back 15 minutes later, the place was a freakin scene from Roadhouse. The cops were there TWICE on Friday (3/1) because of these people and they started a bar riot both times. Cops said they are sick of the violence and drug related crap and are petitioning to yank his liquor license. Even my stepson's pool league has pulled out of there because of the ridiculousness. All of our friends have started finding other places to go because, after all, why would you want to spend your hard-earned money in a bar where you have to deal with that much drama? The one barmaid, Missy, is UBER-AWESOME, but even she can only do so much to try to save this business. You have been warned.
I have attended several events at Loren Naji Studio and Gallery and each event has always been top notch, imaginative and different. I will be attending many more!
Loren's shows are always a perfect mix of talented artists work exhibited, live music, great people and a fun/party vibe. I always look forward to the next opening at his gallery.
One has to look no further than the gallery of Loren Naji to recieve both a great cultural experience and artistic entertainment. The openings are legendary and one feels the gallery is about to burst with all the creative souls that attend.
The Loren Naji Studio and Gallery has a casual and welcoming atmosphere, clever shows, and the most awesome opening events in NE Ohio. Put this gallery on your A-list!
Loren Naji Studio and Gallery has been a great asset to the Northeast Ohio art gallery community and to Ohio artists. The Tall Walls exhibit was one of the most creative exhibits I have every been part of. Loren Naji continues to bring artists together in fresh exhibits with the current show.
Loren Naji and his studios are Cleveland gems. His celebration of art gives everyone a chance to display their art for the public to see and buy. If you haven't been to his studio you are missing out on Cleveland's coolest ARTISTSTIC scene. Loren is very welcoming and encourages ALL artists to participate. Student artists, established artists and lovers of art all share space in his studio. It is a great experience for all. A fun way to meet people who love art in the Cleveland Community.
I have worked hard to present great events with wonderful artists, live music, wine, food with the famous "Beer Pit" that celebrate all the arts and celebrate the fact that we are all artists!!! In my gallery there is no pretentiousness or snubby atttude. Everyone is welcome, for as humans we are all artists in one way or another!!! It is all the community that have visited that really made these events!!! Without you, there would be no events!! THANK YOU EVERYONE !!!!!!!...Loren
THE PLACE IS SPECTACULAR,THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING,THE ATMOSPHERE IS INVITING,THE CREW IS VERY FRIENDLY,AND THIS MAKES IT A UNIQUE PLACE.I DO RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY WHO LOVES THESE GREAT QUALITIES THAT REFLECT THE MEDITERRANEAN CULTURE WITH A MOROCCAN TOUCH INDEED.
The Kent Stage rules all. Dark Side of the Moon was phenomenal and a big part was the venue. I had a great time and the help was great I loved it.
Tavo is a good place to party with friends it holds a packed crowd the bar has just about everything your looking for but the service could be better it took me 10 min to get a drink but the Dj is always rockin and I like how they they have comfortable seating if u jus wanna chill so all in all a good place to pay 10 at the door but bar service needs to step up
I have not been here but have heard NOTHING but horror stories from anyone who's gone. Average wait for food after order is placed is nearly an hour - and don't you dare inquire about the wait or the owner will pretty much tear your head off. Another person brought their own low-fat salad dressing because there was none there, and the owner told them they couldn't bring it in the restaurant. No food is good enough for you to get treated like that. You want good Mexican? El Jalapeno's is two miles away.
As a performer great live venue...lots of nice people and staff. Akron loves good music, so if you play there "bring it"!
Wow! BnB is awesome! totally addicting Mimis ribs and the wings are incredible- always busy and good times!
Lots of strange stuff you won't find anywhere else.
This is the real deal. If you want a sweet glass of strawberry wine and to leave with a $10 bottle, this is not the place. Instead, you will find an estate wine grower, an expert in his field, who makes quality wine and takes pride in his trade. His tasting room is not modern, but his passion genuine. Go meet Arnie at the vines, Linda at the tasting room, and Coco the shaggy greeter and leave with a greater appreciation for the craft of winemaking!
Has a great menu. Small concise. As the owner says its delicious. Problems are the biker chick bartenders and the smell of unclean drains. I'm not sure why anyone would spend their money there.
Good time, good people and good pizza. PAPONETTI'S
