Chagrin Valley Little Theatre never ceases to turn in high quality entertainment at budget prices. The year-round season of plays, musicals and special events often rivals the quality seen on much pricier stages, but at under $20 a head. Definitely worth the drive out to the quaint village of Chagrin Falls!
The Viking Tavern is a smaller, fun venue with great food at a reasonable price. Drink specials everyday. They also are having a free show this Friday the 15th. Gunfire Getdown, Steve's and Julie's, and Rackabye Ransom.
During each Art Walk, one of our first stops is Asterisk. We enjoy the wide range of art they display: they never disappoint. Each month, they highlight something engaging, and usually the artists are in attendance--we've had some stimulating encounters. In conclusion, one of our very favorite galleries.
Silly Gringos... please, just keep going there, stay in the burbs away from the rest of us.. thank you..
Awesome Fresh food. Healthy & organic choiceds. Great Family environment. Amazingly friendly staff. Very down to earth owners. Perfect decor and ambiance. What a welcome addition to Cleveland's Westside.
Gotta Have my karaoke fix on Fridays and Saturdays with Bobby B he is the best and has the largest libray i have ever seen and a super sounding system. Hey the beer is cold the food is excellent and the bar tenders rock so stop in you won't be disappointed
If you're a Hendrix fan, you'll love them. If your a Hendrix-style guitar player, you may find them to be a mystery.
When I saw them, they played each set as a different phase of Jimi's career. There was the "Experience" set, the "Rainbow Bridge"-type set and the Woodstock/Filmore set. They played the early Hendrix only so-so. I say that because I'm a guitar player that believes if you're gonna cover Hendrix - do it note-for-note. They didn't do that on the earlier music. They jammed on Red House (like every other lazy band does). They forgot the words in either Red House or Foxy Lady ( I don't remember). At that point, i thought they were just gonna be another univibe rip-off. I was wrong. I've been working on learning Machine Gun for about 8 months now and they played it dead on. No ad libbing here. Greatest cover I've heard of that song next to Randy Hanson. Same went for all the Filmore East songs they played - and they played a lot of them.
Go see them. If you're a Hendrix lover and a player, they are the best I've heard west of Seattle.
Sara..... its not comparable "to any other mexican place in cleveland" because.......its a gringo place! not a mexican place. Safe, and white, so you dont have to rub elbows with any regular, real people. the best thing about its existence is that people like yerself will go there, for over priced yuppie kibble, and stay away from real, authentic places. For that, i am thankful.
Matt(with the 15 month old)... keep yer annoying kids at home. Just because you chose to have kids doesnt mean the rest of us should have to bear the burden of you reproducing. People with kids think that it entitles them to annoy everyone else around them. Well its not. stay at home, or go to Mcdonalds where they have a playground for yer loud, obnoxious, snotty kids.
JulesD....Dont go ANYWHERE for dinner, "late"... when its late people working in restarants wanna go home. food and service is never as good that late. Dummy.
Same as the other reviewer. Without the big azz horsies and asian decor adorning the interior this place is your quintessential crap-factory of "Chinese".
Beautiful building, tons of history and some if not most of the neighbors respect one another in and outside of the building. Neighborhood thugs are not running this building and hysterics do not rule the day here. There is one thug currently sitting in jail who would disagree with this statement after he was caught on camera (by the manager) committing a theft on the property. This neighborhood is what it is and some things come with the territory. One should not move into the inner city harboring fear and dislike for the people that make up the neighborhood. That makes for a difficult experience. Hodge has always been home to an ethnically diverse group of artists. The majority have lived here peacefully and safely.
Many of the former residents were/are locally to nationally known artists. Hodge was Cleveland's first converted school building and sits on the landmark registry. This is a history to be proud of.
If you leave your belongings in your car then you should not mind your car being broken into-here or anywhere in this city to include the suburbs. And yes, bands do practice loudly, they occaisionally throw parties and leave crap everywhere. So what? Creativity is a personal issue and each resident has the space and support to be creative within their live work studio. The struggle this building is going through is like any transition from being managed by an art curator to professional and conservative building management. Artists are struggling to hold on to and re-build the local artist community. The Hodge is far more safe, quiet and peaceful than a West side counterpart. That tension is a fact of life for many artist communities that are fighting against decline.
Those who hate living here usually move on and that is as it should be.
Creative and Delightful creations served by personable and engaging staff. Always something unusual and fresh. I use it for business off hour meet and greets because of the giant cups of blooming tea. excellent
I HAVE BEEN 2 THIS CLUB ON SEVERAL TIMES AN I THINK ITS A GREAT PLACE TO HANGOUT ACTUALLY DRINK PRICES ARE GREAT AN SO IS THE FOOD AN I GOING BACK SOON OH AN THE BARTENDERS WERE FINE WITH ME I HAD NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.
This place has it all!!! Connected to 1899 Pub, you will not find a better patio anywhere! You can dine in the elegant setting of Ballantine, eat amazing food, steaks and Pizza are champ here, and enjoy some of the best craft beers from around the world. It's actually refreshing to walk into a place like this and see 30+ taps and not one of them be a domestic! Beer lovers paradise, actually my wife and I will be taking part in one of their Mini Bier Tours this week! We did the Beer cocktail party with Troegs Brewery last week and it was worth every penny of $25, would have paid $50 for what we got then tipped another $50!!! You can exit to the patio and go straight into 1899, where they have an electric atmosphere, then even venture upstairs for a quieter vibe and shoot some pool! It would be dangerous for me if I lived in Willoughby because I would be here every freakin night. This is a must stop for Five Star Food, Great Beer, and a perfect atmospere!!!!
Mixed results
1. Food - Overall very tasty
A. Fsh taco, very little fish piece and a lot of toppings made this impossible to handle and it became a knife and fork event
B. Chicken taco - lots of chicken and lots of toppings again, knife and fork
C. Chicken chili relleno - very spicy
2. Service - ? semi self serve, you order at a counter and then they deliver it to table. We asked for a glass of water and were told we could buy a bottle of water because since they had no wait staff they could not be bothered with water when they were busy. When we asked we were the only customers in the entire restaurant
3. Drinks - hand squeezed margartitas
Lime - watery - I make hand squeezed margaritas at home and these were very watery and bland
Mango - sweet, sweet, sweet
And very, very expensive
4. Cost - very expensive, $34.95 for two tacos, one chili relleno and two margaritas. Chips and salsa? extra $4.95 No side dishes with food. Water extra cost.
Bottom Line - tasty food, poor service, very expensive and I will not be back due to the service/water issue
Food is lousy, so is service!
This place is NOT worth wasting your money on! The waitress we had seemed to be high on something and knew nothing about the food or what came with it, the burgers we ordered had to be sent back 3 times because they were RAW (and I mean bloody) raw! If that wasn't bad enough, they didn't even offer us a new burger, but instead scraped off the condiments that were on the burger, threw our burgers back on the grill and sent them back out to us! (still raw) DISGUSTING!
They didn't even seem to care that we were not happy. We ended up paying $41.00 for a couple beers, some crappy french fries, and a bowl of soup that tasted like grass! Maybe that's what our waitress was smoking....who knows? Don't waste your time or money going to this place!
Fine food, at an affordable price, served well. We had crab cakes , calamari, salad, pork chop and a desert.
This could become our new favorite restaurant .
