Everyone is complaining about a caricature it's been used for many years for many sports teams why is nobody complaining how the United States government screwed over the indigenous people of the United States of America slaughtered them enslaved them took their land gave them nothing yet you people spend hours crying about a logo that bears no resemblance to an American Indian in actuality. If you are actually all really concerned about the plight of the American Indian the actual indigenous tribe of America go spend some time helping those people out they certainly need it
Your article on the English Nanny & Governess School in May of 2008 was nicely done. As a former 1995 graduate of the school, I enjoyed reading it. I much enjoyed the school and my successful placement with one of their clients in Westchester County, NY - a professional, kind and compassionate, Hindu family with three wonderful children.
I am very grateful to the school for the professionalism they instilled in me and my classmates. It was a wonderful experience and led to a ten plus career as a Certified Professional Nanny. Mrs. Roth was very kind and soft spoken. To this day, I still remember her picking me up at the Cleveland airport when I flew in and taking me to the off campus apartment complex where the other students and I would be staying. I begged her not to get my luggage out of her trunk as I could do it, but she wouldn't hear of it. Very pleasant women.
I have researched "nanny" history and came across a book, although I don't remember neither the title nor the author, which detailed the true lives of a few European nannies. One was British and was placed with either an East Indian or Middle Eastern family. the young women had to wear the local cultural attire as part of her work. The book chronicled nannies from the 18th and 19th century. A very interesting and informative read. It shed light on how babysitters were considered for the poor and nannies were for the wealthy. One interesting note according to the author was that the nannies sometimes came out of the farming communities. An amazing history that we modern nannies came from!
Thank you again for the walk down "memory lane."
