Re: “Enter Utica: The Fracking Industry Really Loves Ohio; Here's What's on Tap for All of Us

Skeptic, you are either a paid troll to spread misinformation about renewable energy or you are extremely uninformed about the tremendous strides in the affordability and reliability of renewable energy. If you are the former you are part of the attacks by the fossil fuel industry on a formidable alternate to their dirty products. If you are the latter there is a lot of information online on renewable energy like at the Post Carbon Institute and at Stanford University's Solutions Project.

Re: “Enter Utica: The Fracking Industry Really Loves Ohio; Here's What's on Tap for All of Us

Renewable energy is a toy energy program. It is not real world. If taxpayers weren't soaked by massive subsidies per unit of energy, it would be used for high school science experiments.

Why are 5 counties in New York trying to secede from the state? Because rich liberals in NYC can afford their renewable energy fantasies.

Re: “Enter Utica: The Fracking Industry Really Loves Ohio; Here's What's on Tap for All of Us

Erin, looks to me like this is a great article that spells out what the Ohio leaders' choice of fracking is bringing us. We could have rolled out the red carpet for the renewable energy industry. It was a good fit with our history of ceramic and glass production. We already were the 2nd biggest producer of wind energy components in America-not the blades but the other components. All the polls showed the public favored renewable energy. But we are squashing that industry in Ohio -can you say SB310- and tripping over ourselves doing everything the frackers want. We need to know this stuff because no one is looking out for Ohio's health and economy. The citizens have to know this stuff. Thanks, Scene, for the effort of looking at all the factors involved in the fracking industry.

What company do you work for Erin? Don't come on here bad mouthing a guy who wrote a "compilation" of info. Maybe that was the point to make others aware of what's going on and to avoid another travesty done to this beautiful earth we live on. Fracking doesn't effect global warming? Blah, wake up and take a look around. It is ok though cause our mother will get rid of the trash on this planet like she has done so many times before.

Wow, I can tell that Sam Allard wrote most of this story because it's basically a compilation of information found elsewhere with LITTLE TO NO original reporting. Sorry, boys. But this a steaming hot plate of shit. You're wrecking this once proud alt-mag.

Whether you are in favor of fracking or not, there is an issue here about Home Rule and whether areas should have the right to determine whether certain business activities should be allowed in their town. I'm surprised at the lack of outrage caused by this Supreme Court ruling

Re: “Mega Man: Vine All-Star Nicholas Megalis Takes to the Written Word in his New Book

This is one of the funniest books I have ever read. And the illustrations are works of art. And I am a 61 year old woman! My 20 yer old nephew agrees with me by the way. It just goes to show that we all have a lot more in common than we think. Bravo, Nicholas!!!!

Re: “Sci-Fi Reality: Interstellar Travel May Be on the Horizon

The first place this will be developed (or already been developed) is in a military black-budget facility. And the general population will be informed of this breakthrough about 50 years after, if ever. All for the sake of "national security"

Re: “Anthony Trzaska Wants to Help Save Slavic Village

Slavic Village is an interesting issue. it has the Obvious traditional points, a savvy councilman in Broncatelli, 50 million in new investment by Forest City, A great proximity to Cleveland which is growing rapidly and guys like this routing for it.
Then you have Gibs me Dat. While incredibly rude and angry himself you have to wonder why. He is that way because he has dealt, as all of us have, with a terrible cancer in this area. Now don't start with the racist thing because I am not having it. bottom line is that between the low end copper thieves and the high end mortgage thieves Slavic Village got killed and picked to the bones. But, there are a lot of reasons it can thrive and survive.
Your main problem is that geographically it will always be openly connected to financially lower end communities. Even Ohio city has struggled when compared to geographically walled in Tremont. Fix that problem and they will come. Build the newer homes on larger yards with three bedroom homes, add local security and services like snow plowing via a condominium like fee and round out the ends of a few streets so that the only way through Slavic Village is 77 or the end of Fleet and I think you'll have the desired community.

Re: “Call It Even

You need to stop acting as if THOMAS is innocent. He surely loaded the gun for her to be killed. He stole from her and exposed her to dirt bags from the street. She was a sitting duck which he caused.

Re: “The Fall of King Randy: How the (Former) Superintendent of Medina City Schools Slashed and Burned Through the District's Trust and Money

I would like to meet the person who would turn down Mr Stepp's contract if it was offered to them. The real criminals here are the board of directors who APPROVED paying Mr Stepps student APPROVED his $83 signing bonus. APPROVED his $183 salary. They were elected by the people to responsibly hire a Superintendent. My opinion? They screwed up and they really are the ones that should have to repay the money..... like I said ...how many of us would turn down that contract if we had the chance???? none of us.

Re: “Anthony Trzaska Wants to Help Save Slavic Village

Slavic Village is a community that welcomes people of every ethnicity, every economic level, and every creed- except for one: this is not a place for the intolerant and those who profess overt or veiled racism. I'm proud of Anthony and others like him who recognize the worth of our neighborhood, our many and diverse residents and businesses, and we stand with those who will build and connect. I feel sad and sorry for those who instead choose to perpetuate hate and division.
