Tha Fiddla is a quality performer...
Released yesterday (January 1), Brian Eno's "Reflection" - the album consists of a single 54-minute ambient track - may go gate-to-wire on a number of 2017 top ten lists. It is "Discreet Music" for a new minimalism.
Mike Love is a Douchebag.
I just seen the Money Man live last night on Oregon Ohio and I tell you what I freakin loved it dude. I've been watchin this man since as long as i can remember and I'm 43 it was a KICK ASS show i can't wait to see him again. He rocked it at his age it was a better show than many of the younger shows I've seen in my life. Eddie if you ever see this " thank you for all the hits and great memories" love you man, and to Loggins and "lakeerieseagulls"KISS A ASS
Sy Smith was given the long moniker: The Underground Queen of R&B and Soul.....to simplify things: That Voice, Incredible!
Eddie Money has more talent in his little finger than Kenny has in his whole body.
Rock on Eddie!
It's sad that today's supposed "musical genius" (Kanye West) doesn't actually play any musical instruments at all. It really speaks to the demise of popular music as a whole. No one plays instruments anymore. We have no choice but to look forward to a "Rock Hall" full of microphones and turntables. Awesome.
(And I'm not some old dude bitching about the younger generation. I'm in my 20's, and I feel sorry for my generation.)
"Moron ?" come on, I guess writing, arranging, and playing most of the instruments on the records isn't enough for you. And he didn't get rid of Sam, that was Sam's choice. True without the powerful blend of their two voices, you don't have The BoDeans, but I think Kurt has earned the right to use the name.and a Kurt Neumann solo gig is better than most.
Not even a mention of Janet Jackson?
Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson, Steeleye Span and King Crimson. Particularly Jethro Tull. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a remarkable institution but Tull should have been in 20 years ago.
The Guess Who..These Eyes, Laughing, Undun, No Time, American Woman, Share The Land, and more... A no brainer!!
SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES! Good God, why are the not in the HOF yet?
Manfred Mann's Earth Band was part of the original British Invasion. They produced countless hits and great music for close to 40 years. While I totally agree with all of the other bands mentioned in the article and in the comments above, Manfred Mann is highly deserving of the Cleveland honor.
Blue Oyster Cult is greatly underrated as a ground breaking band. Most know their over played radio anthems (Godzilla, The Reaper, Burnin for You) but if you delve deaper into their music you begin to understand the beauty of Blue Oyster Cult.
The Minutemen, The Replacements, Richard & Linda Thompson, Fairport Convention, Nick Drake, The Runaways, Patti Labelle, Duran Duran, Boston, The Jam, Squeeze, Pat Benatar, Graham Parker, The Pixies, Joe Jackson, Blue Oyster Cult, Annie Lennox, King Crimson, INXS, Fanny, Nick Lowe, Brian Eno, Luther Vandross
Robin Trower- Bridge of Sighs is Legendary
We need to get our Rock heroes of the 60's and 70's in before we consider 80's to present.....
Its not a dis to newer acts ..... its paying respects 1st to the legends
Mountain!!!!! Mississippi Queen is a Rock Anthem!!!!!
Put Leslie West in for gods sake! He invented the power trio!
Some very good acknowledgements Scene, but to me the biggest annual snub continues to be the failure to induct Bad Co. They were the quintessential rock band of the 70s', with arguably the greatest rock singer of all time and a whole string of rock pedigrees from their memberships in former bands (Free, Mott the Hoople and King Crimson). It seems incredible to me that ABBA is in the RRHOF and Bad Co. is not.
hall makes nomcom members published every year...futurerocklegends posts them as well
