Re: “Having His Cake and Eating it Too

The worst part is, he's trying to suck the spirit from good people that just want to help out the community and be responsible and smart. Don't let this break your spirit, this scumbag will get what he deserves. Hopefully the next party thrown is one celebrating his conviction!

Re: “Constantly Amused

Playing that game roller coaster tycoon is a blast, because you get to live out the whole designing a roller coaster thing. But yeah, I would love to have this guy's job. All my coasters would probably bomb commercially, though, because they would be too awesome for people to handle!

Re: “Found Alive

It's an embarrassment to the community and the police that these girls were living in that house for that long and never successfully rescued until just now. Absolutely mind-blowing.

Re: “Found Alive

We got this same line after Anthony Sowell. "Oh we're so sorry. We will do a better job of looking for missing people. We will change. You'll see". May 6, 2013. Just like Anthony Sowell's house of horrors, this is essentially a missing person's case gone haywire. CPD is very lazy. They
CANNOT claim that they did everything to find these women, and all along they were right in the area. I am warning everybody that this will happen again because none of us is doing anything to improve the situation!

Re: “Having His Cake and Eating it Too

What this article is telling, 'is about a greedy narcistic person using other people's good nature to fulfill his greedy & sick dreams just like Bernie Maddoff that made millions of dollars with his ponsey scheme.' It is really sad how he wants to mislead people in his own community.

Re: “Found Alive

This despicable sub-human cockroach should be thrown in the streets, onlookers given police batons and be allowed to slowly beat him to death, breaking all the little and big bones in his body before his skull is crushed. The death should be videotaped and put on u-tube for all pedophile child abusers to see.

Re: “Baseball's Fiscal Cliff

Well, the article is a good read, all about baseball and the ridiculous TV contract fees that the consumers end up paying for. I used to be a really big sports fan until I realized saving up my money to support my local sports team is basically stupid. I'm all for supporting Cleveland, I try to support any local business or restaurant any chance I get, but I draw the line when I feel I am being gouged because the system is broken. If you're paying someone my yearly salary for them to throw a ball for one inning every now and then, something's wrong with this picture. And when that millionaire who makes all that money has the nerve to yell at me or "call me out" for not dropping what takes me 5 hours to earn so I can "support him" and watch him earn all that money, well, that tends to piss me off slightly. Athletes are not heroes, and they are far from even people that we should be looking up to. They reap the benefits of a broken system, one that has allowed them for too long to get whatever they want and collect more and more money. Yes, some of them do good, but they do no more good than the average person does when you consider the resources that they have at their disposal (and that they are contractually obligated to do some PR "good works"). You can raise my cable or whatever else costs you want, it will get to the point where I'm done with it, and I'll just walk. I now go to maybe 3 games per year (that's Cavs, Indians, Browns, Monsters combined) just because I disagree with the ridiculous amount of money being thrown around and how much cash I have to drop just to get in the door. See, I don't like it, so I choose not to waste my money on it.

Re: “Gone

Another horrible reminder that the only road offered by drugs is one that ends tragically for people and their families. For the sake of all the victims, I hope they catch the cowards behind this. Regardless of circumstances, no one deserves to be executed like that, especially innocent people that were only in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Re: “Halcyon Ingenieux

Well, I was going to say that this article was somewhat informative for those of us that really don't know a whole lot about the history of Freemasons (and I say somewhat because I feel this dive into history really only dipped 1% below the surface), but the issues of accuracy give me pause. On one hand, it's great that attention can be brought to something that has been a part of Cleveland's history for so long; on the other hand, if the representation isn't accurate, what's the point of bringing it to everyone's attention?

Re: “Halcyon Ingenieux

Dear Kind Sir,

I wish you would have done more thorough research before posting your article....

Let me begin by saying how happy and relieved I am to have " forcibly detached [myself] from any semblance of normalcy," in a world where the media breeds insecurity and the majority has become afraid to leave their homes because of fear-tactics imposed on them by misinformed journalists and news producers with an agenda to gain ratings.

I am Sister Sarah, Master Mason within the Grand Orient of the United States of America, the Master of Atlantis Lodge #21, a resident of the state of Ohio, and a proud woman Freemason who became a Freemason at Halcyon Temple, was made a Freemason gladly, and proudly, by the Brothers of Halcyon Temple, who respect and support my membership to the Grand Orient. Had it not been for the acceptance of my dear Brothers at Halcyon, my Lodge would not exist, and I would not be the pioneer for woman seeking enlightenment through Freemasonry that I am today.

So I must ask, from what source did you glean this misinformation? It's no matter really. The masses have been slandering Freemasonry since its beginning... so much for that. The Grand Orient and Freemasonry as a whole have grown more in 2012 than any previous year in the past decade, and we expect the same rate to apply this year. I pride myself in the fact that I am a member of America's most progressive and esoteric con-Fraternity. We accept people from all walks of life because we are humanists... our main stipulation is that those seeking membership have a sincere want to unravel the mystery and deeper meaning of our human existence.

I regret that I am unable to attend the events this weekend at the lodge I consider my Masonic home. The guys at Halcyon are True Blue and their out-reach to their community is unmatched and will be unfettered by the silliness that this article entails. Next week, another issue of the Cleveland Scene will be published and this issue will be recycled; meanwhile Halcyon will stand tall for the celebration of its 138th year. I urge you and all those who read this article to do your own research. Action always speaks louder than words, which is why Brother Tommy Coste and I will continue our work lifting the veil and allowing the truth to shine through.

Sincerely,

Sister Sarah Hallforth
Master Mason, Grand Orient, USA

Re: “Gone

I did read about it but have only heard a bit here or there about it. I think the Boston bombings took over the news.
