They've got to get better at brewing. Their beer is not good. Love the space and the crowd, but I have yet to have something tasty from their taps. I suspect extracts in the brewing.
The servers had no clue, served the wine after our first course. We had to ask for bread...even after we ordered mussles. The menu is somewhat limited if you ask me. On the other hand, the food was very very good. The back of the house really needs to straighten out the front of the house before I go back..
Doug, you are pretty right on. Service: We had a server who admitted she had never heard of a brined pork chop.... as though it was something new ("he brines it... Never heard of that....") Food: I also noted the UN-chopped chopped salad /, as you did. (good salad but time for a new name, Tim...it is not chopped unless the lettuce is chopped too..). We also had cold pasta... (as "didn't heat it up" cold, not "Sat took long before serving" cold... And frankly temp was off on all 3 hot dishes we got...) And though I can't put my finger on the dish I remember one that was a "please charge me more but give me more" kind of thing. not a complaint about price of item, but more of a needs to be more but I will pay for it kind of thing.
Rumor around town is that old timers who probably pay $14 for a mediocre (but loved) burger at Ricks Cafe - which is not shy about charging high prices for ok food,- are angry this place doesn't have those legacy dishes at cheap prices... "Too expensive" in a town of well off folks..
(I live up Main St...)
Food was average, pricey, service slow (they need a much better wait staff) dark not a friendly atmosphere. They said they spent $600K on renovations??? they kept all the old tables and booths, not impressed. By the way, most of the CF folks I talked to don't rate it very high either.
