Re: “'Heartbeat Bill' Abortion Ban Heads for Governor Kasich's Desk After Ohio Senate and House Passage

The issue is not whether or not there are women/men who are not yet ready to bring a child into the world and then provide the care needed to bring up a healthy, and happy individual. This will always be the case if we do not make more options available for mothers and babies (unborn or carried to term). The unfit mother stems from a unwanted and FORCED pregnancy. Why should the Man (read:patriarchal government structure) set the perameters of incubation?? Ah, He is terrified! worried his legacy is getting pulled apart! Your/Our bodies, our selves!!

That being said- too -isnt it the deception and misdirection surrounding the inclusion of the Heartbeat Bill thats similarly terrifiying. This system does not work!! How do we fix it?!?

Re: “20-Week Abortion Ban Approved by Statehouse, Giving Kasich Two Options

Redneck, bible-thumping Ohio at its finest. Whether or not Kasich vetoes this, he will have a veto-proof Senate next session. How is this possible in this day and age

Probably the best article I've read on the band's new record.
If you're reading this and have not heard Blackberry Smoke I promise you it will be a welcome change to whatever you listen to day after day after day.

Re: “The Frankenstein Factor

Very interesting and ambitious work.At this point, the idea of an immaterial soul being a sticking point is philosophically naive( Cartesian dualism in 2016?);these types of poorly understood metaphysical arguments are the same reasons stem cell research was temporarily, partially banned in the United States.
Animal research is unsavory,to say the least, but a necessary evil. The understanding of physical reactions to biological material is priceless.Vaccines save more lives (humans and animals) then they have taken to create unequivocally. Cars contribute to thousands (millions including animals) of deaths every year, nobody wants to ban cars. The first heart transplant (1963) was on par with this magnitude of scientific achivement,3,500 life saving heart transplants are done all over the world a year.
Calling this brilliant, ambitious life saving surgeon "Frankenstein" feels comfortable, it distances oneself from the perceived moral implications of such research.Realisticly, the moral implications of not pursuing the logical extensions of potential medicine( because the process is distasteful), far outweigh the collateral damage associated with consenting parties willing to try medically justified radical procedures that have the potential to enrich and extend lives.

Re: “Another Year, Another Raise for Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman

For all he has done and is doing, he is worth every penny. The Metro Parks continues to grow and improve every year. With hundreds of employees and volunteers, thousands of acres, and hundreds of programs, Brian is making this the best park system in the country. We are very fortunate to have his caliber of leadership.

Re: “Cleveland's Favorite Fake Construction Worker is Apparently Back

I picked CJ up too. Winter 2014/15 on Lorain near W143rd. Lorain goess under RR tracks. I was heading west sitting under the RR bridge waiting for the light to change. CJ is under the bridge and gets my attention. He says rebar cut open his truck's gas tank as he was plowing the car lot on the corner. Wants me to take him to the gas station up the street. It's starting to snow and he's in his disguise. I told him no at first but he retorts with with something like, 'if i was going to do something to you, do you really think I'd be dressed like this?'. Like a goof I let him in. He had me go down 150th to the BP at 71. As we get close to the BP he changes his mind and wants to go farther south on 150th. At that point I dropped him off at the speedway. I gave him $2. Live an learn.

I've enjoyed the pleasure of treating friends and relatives to dinner at Giovanni's. The humor is, we enter a fairly simple entrance, and then we are "blown away" with the extremely top notch staff, atmosphere, and menu. Often these guests return on their own.

How about investing in a local community that actually supports the Browns for all 12 months as opposed to one ?

Re: “Ohio State Legislature on Lame-Duck Warpath, Looks to Pass Expanded Concealed Carry Law

Someone on the comments said that the Harvard study on gun violence was debunked. So, I did some checking, and this claim isn't true. In order for something to be debunked in the scientific community it must appear in a reputable journal. However, I did come across some articles refuting wth Harvard study. A few were of the articles were done by economists. That's like going to a banker and asking him to fix you car. You need other scientists to confirm or debunk a theory. The other "debunking" articles were written by Crime Prevention Research Center. That sounds pretty professional on the surface, and it had me fooled too. But I did some digging. It is just a lobbying group for pro-gun ownership. All scientific papers should be reviewed, and I am not making any statements about gun violence on this post. But, it is misleading to say the Harvard study is not valid and worth looking into more. What I mean by that is more scientific funded research.
