Re: “Made Connection

Not sure how this is art exactly, but whatever. I never had a keen eye for that sort of thing anyways.

Re: “Made Connection

You do your thing and screw what anyone else says about it. As long as you're having fun and enjoying it, that's what counts.

Re: “Con Gone Wrong

I'm not sure what performance of Six Degrees of Separation Ms. Howey saw, but the one I saw was nothing like this review. I found it to be well executed and moving, with all the actors convincing in their roles. This production is a deeply insightful critique of class, interpersonal relationships, and social responsibility. By reversing the casting, Oatman drives home the point that the narcissistic pursuit of personal pleasure has deep ramifications, and that the social indifference that results from such narcissism is morally reprehensible. Perhaps Ms. Howey needs to reacquaint herself with the use of hyperbole to make a point, perhaps she lacks the creative flexibility necessary to truly understand how the director transitioned a period piece into contemporary social critique, or perhaps she simply had a headache when she attended this play.
