Let me remind also that the paying off a superintendent's outstanding student loans prior to his appointment is completely unprecedented and unique to Medina. All of it is an outrage and I'm sorry we don't have the money to cover for Mr. Stepp who thought himself a CEO of a major corporation instead of a public servant. Kids went without clay in art class for crying
out loud! No reading intervention, all the services that the ESC money should have covered went to Stepp's pockets and his contracted "growth" instead of the services it paid for, all the while crying that there was no money to educate our children properly. The cat is out of the bag, the country club lifestyle of the rich and famous is over for Medina. Support local businesses, my foot! His next door neighbor? That's cronyism and everything should have estimates and bids. Funny, he's using cronyism as a defense against the state audit. Lay off the "outragers". If it wasn't for their vigilance and work, the levy wouldn't have ever passed. This time we're making sure it's "for the kids".
This was a great expose' and I appreciate ALL the investigative journalism into this fiasco, iincluding the Gazette.
It's kind of fun to do the impossible.

everybody is somebody.
Those on here that defend the slimey snake of a man...AKA Randolf Stepp are most probably those that contributed to his ascension into Power and Corruption! He has scorned his own concocted "Core Values"! What a laugh... What a slimey POS!
Ugh yes bogus. It's also bogus that. 22% of black children in the east side if cleveland have asthma and that 8% have to be hospitalized. Also bogus that air pollution takes an average if a year off everyone's life in ne Ohio.
Does anyone actually know of someone cited? It would appear the law has been in effect for nearly a decade. Slow news week?
Wow, my phone chopped up that second half...meant to say that autostart equipped vehicles would be in compliance with two of the three requirements stated within the above.
Well, considering autostart doesn't require keys (thus there wouldn't be any in the ignition) and the ignition is locked (without keys inserted) the only issue would be the engine running.
Two-thirds of the autostart equipped vehicles would be within the law (based on the above article).
Another way for a cop who desperately needs to reach his monthly quota can crank out a couple tickets around 5 am in residential areas.
I hope it runs in a good light!
ugh live nation sucks
The comment section looks like some of the spots in the Lame Dealer right before the Feds came calling on the political corruption.....you read the desperate verbiage of a cowardly "insider" who posts under numerous names. Randy is a slimmer version of Jimmy.....and his enablers are just like the clowns who stumbled around the county building - trying to look busy - for too many years.
Well....I gather it's better than having editors, columnists and reporters cuddle up and kiss the private parts of criminal politicians - and then act surprised when the Feds come to town and toss a chunk of 'em in the slammer; while assigning Special Ted to rewrite the sordid history of endorsements and ignoring (perhaps warning the crooks of) credible whistle-blowers who believed the rag had some journalistic credibility.
Rick from Pawn Stars - "If this was definitely the one from the 100 win, I would open the vault. But you have to realize that is my risk for what may be little - real little - reward. And this could be taking up space in the shop for months, if not years. I can't go any higher than $500, cash-money."
Gee I wonder why Northern Ohio Lifer, Save our Community and Tired of Irresponsible Reporting are all identities that have recently been created and feature one post each; and they all sound like they were written by the same language- and grammar-challenged person. Totally lame.
And they wonder why the PD is bleeding readers....
Can't beat that weekend with a stick!!!!!
What about a "Very Old Brooklyn Thanksgiving"???
The rocky alcove points to Edgewater....
"Tired of irresponsible reporting" should tell us his connection to Stepp. Most likely IS Stepp himself.
This matter should be referred to the Ohio Attorney General for full investigation. No drugs in her system? No (apparent) ability to hang herself in the manner in which she was found? Multiple dishes and wineglasses found at the scene? False statements about a nonexistant suicide attempt included in a police report?
This woman's family deserves to know how she died -- it certainly has enough indicia of homicide to warrant a REAL investigation.
