Re: “A former Westwood Country Club caddie pens a novel about his experiences

May have to buy this just to see how accurate it is. We were the real caddyshack and I have great memories from those days. Not sure if they changed the system, Chris, but when I was there the members did not choose the caddies, the caddy master or one of the 1st tee guys assigned caddies based on a system developed by Mr. G. If you worked hard you got out early and typically could caddy twice. I had to work to make money so I can't think of a better place to do it at for a kid in grade school and then high school. We worked hard, screwed around a lot and learned a lot of life lessons.

...or maybe it was "G-GE-GE-GET GET OUTTA HERE." Either way, he was a real asshole

Re: “A former Westwood Country Club caddie pens a novel about his experiences

Awesome. I caddied around 1990 as a "b" caddie in the seventh grade. The caddy masters adult brother worked the snack bar and I can still hear him whine over the PA "G-GE-GE-GE-GET IN HERE!!"
I can't say that I had very good memories of the place. My grandparents aware members and we loved it. Then I caddied. Only the worst of the members would choose a B caddy. We'd arrive before 7 am and have to wait all day unpaid till 3 or 4 to get a chance to go out and then get about $9 for three hours of back breaking work.

Re: “Northeast Ohio's 50 Most Frustrating Cold Cases

Slyman plead the 5th. What happened to my daughter? I just wished someone would come forward with the truth now that cucu is in prison.

The "Kieshka" bad-taste entry made us feel like Renner was just putting in time to finish off a deadline and couldn't care less about the style of his article.

Re: “Chicken Wars

I knew Earl as a teenager as a matter of fact I was married to him. He took me to one cock fight and that was in the woods behind a really nice house, Needless to say we never went to another one. I was very close to his family I believe everything that was reported except one thing. I cannot believe the statement that he had his first rooster at twelve and that his Mother and Dad traveled to fights. His Mother would never have done something like that his Dad who we called BD maybe. We were together for at least 6 years and I never heard one story about this and they told a lot of stories. It takes a sick person to fight enjoyment in a terrible act of cruelty.

Re: “Monkey Business

Promoters don't promote anymore. They want the musicians to do everything for them. F•ck that! Venues are the same way. WTF? Gorilla is a shady business. You don't treat musicians the way that they do. They can stay the hell out of Kentucky. We don't need their crap.

Re: “The Swagalicious Life of Mall Guy: Behind the LED Belt and Colorful Shirts of One of Cleveland's Most Visible Characters

I first saw him at an Indians game in Sept. 2005. His shirt said "I'm too sexy for my job." I took a picture of him and my sister had it hanging on her refrigerator for years! How crazy!

Re: “Northeast Ohio's 50 Most Frustrating Cold Cases

Really, putting "who stole the keeshka" in here is in very poor taste. These are real people, with real families that suffered. I'm up for a good and tasteless joke, but this kind of belittles these tragedies.

Re: “The Wrong Crowd

Penix obviously DID know what was going to happen. She's not innocent by any means.

Re: “The Wrong Crowd

I'm not sure why Penix was charged with murder, unless they thought she had known from the begining what Rafferty had planned.

Re: “Was An 81-Year-Old Wife, Mother and Grandmother Abducted By Her Own Daughter or Rescued From a Bad Situation?

I'm shocked, I knew Fouroukh (she went by Manda) for a couple of decades, and can't believe that her daughter did that to her. She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. She used to tell me that though she was sad she had to make a stand against her daughter, she felt she had to protect her grandchildren, as they couldn't do it for themselves. I think that what shocks me most is the culpability of the court system. I can understand that her daughter "shopped around" for people willing to look the other way after Manda was found to be incompetent, but what I don't understand is that the justice system sees this and allows it to occur, siding with the daughter. But, I suppose, this, and other cases like this continue to line their coffers, and they don't mind. It would be great if those that are acting an accessory to this also be brought to justice.
