Re: “Still No Clear Path Forward for East Cleveland Budget Woes, But Bankruptcy Remains on Table

Actually, this is beyond a regional problem; it's a statewide problem. Why? 1- Ohio's bizarre tax structure. I have paid a small fortune in city income taxes over the years to cities I have never lived in. As a degreed professional, I usually earn 70-80 k per annum, so this is quite a bit of income tax. Most people who actually pay EC's income tax live outside of the city. 2- The State - Local government fund. Ohio's municipalities are fond of being bailed out by taxpayers who live outside of them, again paid for by people like myself who hold decent paying jobs.

Re: “'Sea of Blue' Rally Planned for Saturday in Support of Police

I think if a bunch of employees did what was found in the DOJ findings and zero were indicted on any charges I miiiiiiiight be less than enthusiastic about my place of employment. I might want to focus on changing the culture of my workplace to criticize their actions without facing retaliation.

Re: “The Origins of Northeast Ohio-Based Inca Tea

Anybody try the tea? Can't seem to find it locally . No Heinens or Giant Eagles ever heard of this tea. Fox 8 had him on one of their shows and he said "you can buy this tea at your local Heines and Giant Eagle stores" well that ain't so,maybe he wants everyone to go and ask for this tea ,thus creating a new store product

Re: “'Sea of Blue' Rally Planned for Saturday in Support of Police

A job description doesn't characterize someone, but represents their experience and integrity. Subjecting the entire CPD instead of a single employee of the Law Enforcement is as uneducated as blaming an entire restaurant for receiving the wrong meal when the real problem was miscommunication. When a badge goes off duty and becomes confronted by a child, family member, or friend who questions if they helped killed someone, that is when we as citizens of Cleveland have to take action. Injustice is NOT a victimless crime, agreed. By rioting, protesting, and other forms of "a-two-race-only world (good this, bad that)" rallying, it threatens the future of our city and tarnishes the reputation of any Law Enforcement Officer on or off duty. A loved one live has been taken by a police officer and the tragedy will affect their families forever, (R.I.P) but to direct anger to the entire CPD is too much. Citizens, do you receive blame at your place of employment for something the janitor did? (In order words, one employee mistake doesn't not hold the entire team accountable. Sport fans, do you blame Kyrie Irving when the coach tells Lebron to "run the floor"? Blacks and Whites are NOT the only races that resides in Cleveland. It would seem close to self-prejudice to not acknowledge how many public negative actions are opposing other races. Violence does not equal Justice. Justice = Justice. "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" #ThisIsCleveland, not North Korea. #seaofblue

Re: “'Sea of Blue' Rally Planned for Saturday in Support of Police

Actually Camilo, the people are going for peace! Unlike the "innocent" people that were unfortunately shot due to the lack of proper upbring, listening to police commands, a being detriment to society (robbing stores/waving a gun in public). Hopefully, since the parents didn't teach the kids correctly, maybe this will have some impact!

I guess it's no different Camilo of these "protesters" supporting some criminals and their behavior?

Ask Mary Jo if that support includes shooting at fleeing kidnap victims in their underwear.

Re: “Local Filmmakers Launch Kickstarter Campaign for Documentary About Swingos Celebrity Inn

I worked at Swingos as a Front Office Manager. It was a great job and I met a lot of rock stars. Every year they would show up and I would have their rooming list and keys ready for them. The rock stars all had fake names, some of which were pretty clever. I remember those days well and they were good memories. When the movie "Almost Famous" came out, my friends called me and said the gal who was at the front desk looked like me. It was funny.

Re: “Update: Kelly Blazek, Head of Cleveland Job Bank, Writes Scathing Emails to Local Job Seekers

What a Shrew. Clearly, SHE does not know how Linked In works. Respectful, Unassuming Professionals such as these do not deserve to be berated by the likes of this 2 bit Headhunter who lacks the cooth, professionalism and decency to treat people that matter like they matter. Her apology was ridiculous. What a douche.

Re: “"This Video Will Change the Way You Watch A Christmas Story"

I also watched this movie for the hundredth time this year as a 35 year old mother with my three children. We were at the part where dad sits down and notices the dogs heading into the kitchen. well if you keep your eyes on the dogs u will see that there is an actual dogfight going on! Did they really throw a turkey amongst 6 dogs and put them in that over the top situation just for a good shot? these poor dogs were not in good hands in this moment. There was no control over that situation and I can only wonder the wounds the dog(s) suffered to get this shot. Shame on you whoever was in charge of that bit!

I worked there as a daytime cashier in the restaurant when I first got out of high school until I landed a real job.
