Wow, I have this album and it is phenomenol. Didn't think it'd get reviewed here but very cool. This band is like nothing ever to come out of Cleveland (or wherever they're all from). Stunning playing, excellent writing. May not be everyone's tastes but for the adventurous this hits the spot.
How is it possible to sound harsh AND tentative? Stupid review from someone who can't listen to anything but noise.
Here here. There is some really good stuff on this album. I've seen them at the Beachland and Grog Shop and the live show is terrific as well. Don't miss out on these guys. Very unique and original sound which is so nice to hear with all the commercial and mundane crap out there.
Ohhhhhh Gallucci! There are many Chris Cornell fans that are simply ecstatic over this live accoustic album! This is Chris Cornell at his most raw. Tell me this. Did you bother to see him in concert this year? If not, watch a few YouTube videos. He began out of his comfort zone with this acoustic tour, but he's settled in quite nicely and nicely interacts with his audience and fans.
The Songbook CD has been a long time coming and we're so glad it's finally released!
Sorry, but not much of a review is it?
Five sentences and one and a half of those address the topic?
BTW- Great CD if you like Kate Bush.
Plantation Lullabies is from 1993 -- not 2003. Brilliant stuff. I also recommend Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape. Heavy but unforgettable.
A birthday gift on the 25th.
Mr. Waits is in great form!
Does anyone have contact information for Tom Morello? There are rallies in Washington DC in October to demand the stop to Afghan war and Enough is Enough for citizens rights to representation.
Way to go, Guys! Congrats, what a true and awesome review!

They don't even rap on this record. What the hell?
Preque Vu rules! This review sucks!
Jeff
Thanks for reviewing Jonah's latest CD. Jonah has been a Cleveland institution for along time and those of us in our "mid life" still have Michael and Jonah's CD's in our rotation. Both songs you thought had too many cliches are two of his biggest hits...maybe they don't hold up as well today (but I would argue Nothings Gonna Change My Mind is just as great of a song today) but they were pretty awesome soundtracks to our late 1970's through the 1980's. Thanks again for giving his new CD some press.
smoke is a great song. those instrumental breaks with her singing "let's smoke all night" are such earworm-y, hard to dismiss. but it's difficult to relate to her sentiments. this is her anti-label album which is not always a good thing to write about that but bang bang, oh bangladesh, and he slayed her, you should know me are great tracks.
ps. this website kinda sucks. sorry for the double post.
I've gotta drive from Memphis, TN to Atlanta, GA. For Coheed So Worth It! I broke down in Columbus once. It wasn't bad aside from the broken down part.
