I have to disagree completely. I think Sage offers a far more literary approach to the music than other artists which you might prefer, and where you consider his lyrics to fall flat, I consider them to be masterfully crafted words for simple concepts. "Got Up This Morning" for instance is just him fucking some crazy English Major. The point however, is that he is able to describe for all of us some of the emotions experienced when in a situation like that. And I personally believe the opposite of your comment about social discourse.

I don't get it. Montag is way more interesting with this new record, more engaging and poppier than his previous stuff... I can't hear any Air in "No One Else" either. The beats are not cheesy: they're mostly real drums which makes the album so much warmer than most electronic music records out there. I really don't think he overdid it with the production, it's really unique sounding... maybe you should listen to it again?

Listen to it -- actually, LISTEN to it with HEADPHONES maybe. ZEITGEIST isn't the best SP LP, however it's relevant and viscerally and sonically pleasing.

Dear Sharon. I didn't know where else to write to, so I hope u get this "mail" somehow. I have deep respect for u and all the things u've done for ur family. If I could i'd send u to a holliday with spa, massage (don't know the word for it) with NO ONE ELSE than u. If anyone is rewarded the best title as a MOM, it's U! U've handled it well during all the dramatic ways ur life has lead u. I'm going myself to get my left chest removed and "rebuild" with plastic surgery, cause a "knot" in my chest. The tests didn't show anything, but they'd like to remove it anyway. I can only dream of what thoughts went through your head. I'm a single mom with 2 sons. One of 'em has ADHD and has to get medicin in a gouple of month. I struggle every day to keep the day workin' and I must say U just inspire me. I know the serie is some acting and some for real, but the idea in it is good. U have followed your own kids through hell and back and I would do the same. I am greatfull for having them, dispite our daily arguing. (They are only 5 years and 17 month) I never had a mom to look up to (She's alive, but we've cut "bonds", due a familytragigy she would't accept, She made me choose between my father and her.... U guess the rest)But I look up to you and I hope to be just as strong as you, someday. U have adorable kids and u've turned to look like a butterfly. (I didn't wanna sound crazy or something else...) So now U know... U r my favorite mom and I know I'm not the only one who said this, but it feels great to say it to the person. As my motto says: If U smile to someone, mayby they'll smile back someday. Why does there have to be a concept for every album? Cornell is so talented and creative he shouldn't have to be pigeon-holed into one type of sound or theme per album. I love the fact that "Carry On" is all over the place. I won't get bored with the same sound or style repeated in 14 tracks. Diversity is a good thing!!! The "bizarre Michael Jackson cover" started out as a joke. You need to see Cornell perform this song live in concert to really appreciate how he takes this pop song and makes it his own. Much in the same vein as Johnny Cash did with Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage". Don't write off "Carry On". Just as his first solo album "Euphoria Morning" was, "Carry On" is a grower. Some of the songs come off very simplistic, at first listen. Each subsequent listen reveals something new. I listen to it quite frequently and have yet to get bored with it.

Get a clue you moron. "The Search" is a great record. As was Wokemah and the Melody Of Riot, as was Wideswing Temolo, and as was Trace. Excuse the fuck out of Jay Farrar for having the balls and artistic vision to NOT follow in the footsteps of all of the lame ass writers and bands out there who insist on making the same record time and time again because it worked once upon a time. Open your mind and listen to Jay's records for what they really are: Individual pieces of a larger puzzle. I am sick to death of the "It's not as good as Trace" mentality every time this guy puts out a record. Get over it. If you want to listen to the same record put out under a multitude of titles, there's always the AC/DC catalog. And while I'm ranting, I'm not sure what you are trying to get at with the snide remarks like "Sounds like indie session players" and "Well produced and soulless" but you can shove that up your ass too. I have had it with the idea that a release is weak because it's properly mixed and produced, and has players on it that actually took the time to learn their instruments. A record doesn't have to sound like it was made on a radio shack cassette recorder by a bunch of mentally challenged chimps to have soul, or to be credible. You are obviously one of the vast army of musical dimwits too busy roaming aimlessly around looking for the next big suck-ass "indie" savior to come along to even notice when the goods are right in front of you. Why don't you stick to reviewing something that takes a little less brain power, like, peanut butter or something. You obviously don't know shit about music.

What a pile of generic rubbish! My Chem don't take themselves that seriously, some of there songs are about very personal things, well alot of them are, and they have a right to be serious. Yet, they still have an element of fun to them, 'Teenagers' is just The Black Parades' 'Headfirst For Halos' a song that infact started off as a joke. I appreciate that The Black Parade is different to what MCR usually produce however I feel that it should be approached with an open mind and a good knowlege of what they're songs are actually about. I would like to see you get up there and do what they are doing, putting personal thoughts and their journeys out there for the public to hear, I doubt you would be able to do it. They do not write superficial or degrading lyrics that are so often displayed in popular music of our culture these days, which is a refreshing change. So many bands have the same sound right now and personally I see very little relation between MCR and these bands, they borrow ideas-sure- every artist does, thats what art is!. However they do not rip off another bands sound completely or even make an attempt to like so many processed pop groups do.
