Re: “Damn Good Music: The 10 Best Albums of 2013 Hit the Spot with Plenty of Electric and Acoustic Bliss

The Jason Isbell album is an instant classic, rewarding repeated listenings like nothing else new I heard in 2013. Amazing stuff.

Re: “Night Ranger Reflects On Its Cleveland Connection

When such interviews turn into oral histories from the golden age of FM radio, album sales and tours.....it rates as a double platinum gem.

Re: “Eric Robertson Tribute Shows This Weekend

GOOD QUESTION ~ AMEN!!!!!!!!!! Mike Angelo was (and I'd assume still is) and amazing guitarist . . . he was a true musician/artist. I still can see him holding his WHITE- Gibson Double-Neck guitar, that unfortunately I heard he had sold Long ago. Im am glad that someone related to Mike has surfaced to aknowledge. Rumor had it that "Mikey" actually could play classical piano and use to display his keyboard CHOPS for friends, obviously never during SECRET performances, but I heard about it over the years. Im the person who had POSTED Vidz of your dad on Youtube from the SAHARA Club 1991. You father Teamed with Eric, Dave Smalley (pre-john penca) in late 1985 (a very long time ago) . . . to form the 2nd version of THE SECRET. I will say that I continue to hear Mike Angelo's name brought-up to this day ~ STILL~ over 20years later. I hope he is Doing WeLL and still playing. I wish him all the luck in the world ~ John Tomczak

Re: “Lights, Lasers, and Pyro: Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Paul O'Neill Reflects on the Band's Incredible 15-Year Run

The shows are spectacular...and a throwback to the once rich, healthy arena rock tours from the 1970s to early 1990s.

Re: “Melody Makers: After 30 Years, NOFX is Still Going Strong

I kind of lost focus of NoFx, right at the time, they were getting popular I believe this was right after the release of Punk In Drublic...I disliked that entire album, except for The Brews. I didn't think anything could top White Trash, Two Heebs, and a Bean ever.... That was my time with them, the first time. From Liberal Animation, to WTTHAAB.

I'm glad I decided to pick them back up...Weird, but the death of my friend, Tony Sly, actually got me back into NoFx. When I saw the things Fat Mike said about Tony, The tribute CD, and the dedication, he showed to Brigitte (Tony's wife), and his daughters, it really made me re-evaluate the legitimacy of this PUNK ROCK band, and their thought process.....Good guys all of them. Salud to NoFx...... R.I.P. Tony

Re: “Regional Beat: Jordan Genovese

Love the album cover, she looks like she's going to smash someone in the face with that guitar. The fact that she has a song called "I'm Not Sorry" makes me imagine that she wrote that after smashing someone in the face with said guitar. Awesome.

Re: “Out of This World: Hawkwind's Nik Turner Talks About Recreating the Band's Space Ritual Shows

"Space Gypsy" should pop up on numerous AOY lists. Nik's post-Hawkwind projects are all tantalizingly mesmerizing in its explorations of body, soul and mind. And that he answered the reporter's questions by swinging a few haymakers should be expected -- his place as a space-rock revolutionary is set....he doesn't need to play the PC charade.
