Re: “Best Tweet of the Year

At least we can all rest easy knowing that the permit to close down the shoreway cost a massive $20. #worthit

Re: “Best Promoter

Means a lot when a promoter actually goes to shows that their not promoting or have no involvement with, James and Cleveland Music City absolutely deserve this award, Congrats!!

Re: “Best Music Venue

House of Blues is a beautiful venue, i think maybe the Grog Shop would have benefited from this more though?

Re: “Best Art Gallery

John is right. The art gallery category is pathetic. Even if the "public" decided that these places and events are galleries, I would hope that a magazine like Scene would choose to represent "Cleveland's Best" by elevating the general public's idea of a gallery.

What might be nice is an actual review of commercial galleries, non profit galleries, frame shop galleries, and art centers to help people, including artists, distinguish between them.

Re: “Best Barber Shop

So if they are so good why do so many men come to our barber shop to get their bad haircuts fixed ? Customers words not mine ! If you want to look at pretty girls go to the clubs. If you want a great cut go to a great barber shop !

Re: “Best Up and Coming Band or Musician

So glad you gave this award to someone who made ONE song three years ago. A minute long song, too. It's just proof that your best of cleveland issue is just a way to get extra ad money. These people only win because their friends (or in this case, Alan Cox and his audience) stuff the ballots. There are lots of great artists here who have made full albums who deserve this attention.

Re: “Best Local Print Publication

Way to give yourself a Staff Pick award. That's hilarious. It really shows how absurd and completely irrelevant your "awards" are.
