Re: “Steve Hackett: Genesis Extended

The shortest gig on a lengthy extended tour was basically a ripoff from the venue. Hackett is one the finest classic rock musicians and should never have been cut short by that money-hungry casino. The performance was superb and this fine artist should've been able to play his full set list.

Thank you Ms. Warren for allowing my grandson to play with you last night. He was so thrilled and honor to meet you.

Re: “Philip L. Small, architect by David Ellison

One particularly fine building by Philip L. Small is the original Cleveland Playhouse, now consigned to oblivion, apparently.

Re: “Steve Hackett: Genesis Extended

The show was good, music was well played, although I am not a fan of the singer. I thought the Rocksino playing commercials for upcoming concerts and events on the 2 jumbo screens during the show was very distracting and inappropriate. Seemed really amaturish, as did the camera work --- when images of the band were on the screens, it seemed that the camera people didn't know which member of the band to spotlight. My rating is 2.5

Re: “Steve Hackett: Genesis Extended

I was not at all the 'other shows', but Steve played for 2 hrs straight.
Every song was beyond fantastic and one the best shows I've seen in the last 10 years. I guess the previous reviewer had higher expectations of length, but 2 hrs is par for the course for a concert these days. Especially one in the middle of the week.

I also think the venue was pretty awesome. It does not have much ambiance, but I don't look for that at a concert. I think the Q or convocation center are even less ambient, especially when you can see sports stuff in those centers. The Hard Rocks theater had plenty of lights and the best sound I have heard in a while. That what is important to me. The old Agora for instance looked very cool & classic the last 10 years(before they closed), but the sound was one big echo chamber. Nfield sounded great, probably with the help of Hackett's sound guy.

The music was better then anything you might imagine when wanting to hear genesis music. It was not like a genesis cover band. It simply was the music of genesis. As well played by any member of genesis, as well sung by peter or phil. I rate this concert a 9.3 out of 10

Re: “Steve Hackett: Genesis Extended

I received word from the Hackett camp that the show at the Hard Rock Rocksino was shortened due to "the insistence" by the venue. What a shame fans in NE Ohio were given a lesser show, but not discounted tickets, by a facility seemingly more intent on pushing patrons back into their gambling mecca.

Re: “Steve Hackett: Genesis Extended

This was the shortest show of the entire tour for some unknown reason. A fine performance, and Mr. Hackett exhibited terrific playing, yet the crowd seemed to know they were receiving a sub par show, and it was a good half hour less in content than other shows on the tour.
The venue itself does the players no favors as it is as vanilla as it comes, with little or no ambiance. It would seem the Hard Rock folks put all their money into the Casino and there was nothing left in the budget for a fitting concert facility.
Overall, the 11 Genesis songs performed were musically top notch, but the fact other shows on the tour have been comprised of 17 songs on average resulted in many fans leaving a lot earlier than they had planned.

Went to see the Local Humor event last Saturday 11/22/14 and much to my surprise we incidentally joined someones baby shower which was comedic in itself. I was told the coordinator has been too busy to organize this event so if you'd like to attend, I'd call Reddstone first unless you want to crash a baby shower.

Re: “The Singing Angels - Holiday Spectacular

The Singing Angels require the parents to sign a release of liability and then fail to provide the children with safety and security. All performances end in a Free for all with children frantically looking for their parents, unable to locate them or get any help to locate them. As young as 9 years old these children are left to fend for themselves in crowds of people with the parents waiting in locations that their children are not delivered to. There is no security or safety for these children. It's a nightmare!

Re: “Food, Fabulous Food

Far less vendors than last year in the beer and wine tasting. I've been going to these for the last five years with fellow microbrew company. This year they were turned down and only two (yes, TWO!) major local brewing companies were there! Giant Eagle really let a lot of us down. Shame on them!

Re: “Kamal Abdul-Alim Quartet

This was the best show I've seen in Cleveland in a long time. The music was outstanding and matched the wonderful food served. The master trumpet player Kamal Abdul Alim was very nice and entertaining to me and other family members as we celebrated our father's birthday. To this day he let's us know how great it was to be at the Nighttown because he is a Miles Davis fan and felt Kamal fit the bill. We purchased a CD of Kamal's music and Dad plays it all the time.

Re: “Sloan

Once again, Sloan Rocked It at the Grog Shop! Its a shame that this band is mostly unknown south of the border. The talent of each one of the members is off the shelve. Patrick blew out his high hat and kept on going the rest of the night not missing a beat. This guy is a animal on the skins! Each member of the band is a huge talent and are true professionals. They are true musician musicians. I just wish i would have been turned on to them years ago, but am enjoying all the great music they have produced over the last 20 years now!

Re: “Cider Rules

OK first of all they are not reuniting. Unfortunately they never broke up. I saw them play in March, and they were gay. Just like they've always been. Notice I'm reviewing the event now. A day before it happens. Just to let you know how suck I know it will be. They sing with English accents, so maybe they should move there, and go away forever.

Re: “Creepy and Kooky

A fantastic production! I was thoroughly impressed by the quality. Having seen both the production on Broadway and tour I was astonished by what your Northwest able to do. The acting and singing was in many cases was superior to the show's Broadway and touring counterparts. I am sure this production will be talked about for many years to come! It's one not to be missed.
