The amusement park features Top Thrill Dragster, a 420-foot-tall, 120-mile-per-hour roller coaster, billed as the tallest and fastest roller coaster ever built. The park has been voted several times as the "World's Best Amusement Park," with its causeway and frontier park of 68 rides, including 16 roller coasters.
In 1993, Lake Metroparks acquired 101 acres along the Chagrin River, located in the communities of Eastlake and Willoughby. Most of the park's natural areas are made up of dense shrubs, with pockets of mature forest bordering wetland areas. The Chagrin River is the park's southern boundary. Look for great blue herons, kingfishers, bank swallows, and sandpipers near the river.

The club provides more than 100,000 square feet of indoor facilities on its 30-acre site. These include a state-of-the-art fitness center with banked track, an aerobics studio, newly renovated 25-meter pool, and nine tennis courts. Supervised child care offers a safe, welcoming place for little ones. Elegant dining facilities, banquet rooms, casual members' grill, tennis lounge, and fireplaces complement the gracious atmosphere. Outdoors you will find 10 tennis courts, with picturesque cabanas, sand-volleyball courts, a 2.5-acre beach-lined lake, charming verandas, gazebo, and landscaped gardens.
It's a masterpiece of challenging golf. The terrain dictates a total game to avert disaster. Judicious use of bunkers encourages an attacking style of play, which is not always the best choice. Playing the blue tees is a testament to one's courage. The closing three holes test the total golfer. The par-3s are moderate from the white tees and a true-pro test from the blue tees.

Charlemont is a 757-acre, undeveloped park located in the main farming region of southern Lorain County. It's the only reservation in the Lorain County Metro Parks system that allows rabbit and pheasant hunting. The park is also a favorite of horseback riders, who are free to enjoy the equestrian trails built and maintained by the Lorain County chapter of the Ohio Horse Council.
