The locker-room nameplates read like a Who's Who in the world of golf. It's a purist's course for those who enjoy and accept the total challenge of the game. The clubs also boasts a great course that demands a complete game.

Fifty-acre Silver Creek Lake has a swimming beach (a fee is charged in the summer) and fishing and boating facilities. The Bridle Trail is the only one in the Summit County system for horses and their owners.

Created by sculptor and architect Levi Tucker Scofield in 1894, the monument commemorates those who were killed in the Civil War. It's 125 feet tall and made of black Quincy granite and buff Amherst sandstone. Surrounding the building are four bronze sculptural groupings to represent the infantry, cavalry, artillery, and navy.
The accountrements are quintessential Lakewood: unpretentious atmosphere, happy-hour drink specials, filling and unfancy bar food. But the music calendar is filled with some of the area’s best singer-songwriters, blues acts, and rootsy rockers.
