These old masterpieces are a part of our heritage and can never be replaced. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. Communities built these buildings as a testament of who they were for future generations to know them.
Are we really willing to trade that for a grocery store / parking lot and call that progress?
Its a mess inside but if it were to be redone, it would all be gutted anyway. Reuse is always difficult but the cultural enrichment it brings to society makes it worth it.
More should be done to save it for the next generation if we are too near sighted to save it for ourselves.
Pretty excited to have a good Asian spot in tremont. Ty fun doesn't cut it...
