Did this guy get the permits to do business in Ohio City or not? Did he have ample time to get them? That's the questions that have to be asked.
C'mon Eric Sandy of Scene..... Do a little digging!
I just read an article, op-ed, (forgot the name) in a local free press paper in Tremont. According to the article, it looks like Naji had plenty of time to get the necessary permits and has chosen not to. Could Scene verify this? Someone is not being truthful and Scene has a responsibility to get to the truth.
Lennon came here for one reason and one reason only. To close parishes that his predecessor couldn't or wouldn't do. He succeeded except that he forgot there is a human element to these beloved parishes he tossed aside as the Church always does with people who are expendable. I've met him a couple of times. At a confirmation, he was actually a nice guy. Before another Mass, I tried to say hello to him and he didn't even acknowledge me until I kindly said hello a third time. I was bothering him during his prayer time I guess.
Lennon has caused irreparable damage to the diocese of Cleveland. Hopefully, the new Pope will see the damage done to this diocese by the Bishop and replaces him with someone who can lead the flock with compassion and humility.
What I would like to know since the people at the PD can't answer it for me after repeated request..... Why did it take so long for the media and PD to report this? Budget cuts at the PD? Poor reporting? Crocker Park or Westlake withholding information. This happened on a Saturday night and wasn't reported until Tuesday. The PD keeps getting worse and worse.
Seems like this Goldberg article is about sour grapes from the staff. Get over it guys and gals! Being nice, bitchy, and vindictive at the same time is par for the course and this broad is no different than any other in upper management positions. Clifton wasn't a walk in the park, judging from this article and harmed the newspaper as much. If you "holier than thou people" at the PD would have done your job properly over the years instead of sitting on your laurels and your egos because you were the only newspaper in town, you wouldn’t have the headaches that you are experiencing with outside and inside forces.
Steve Loomis is a typical fat cat union boss, literally and figuratively. He could absolutely care less about the city. He sure as hell couldn't chase a suspect down if his life depended on it. Typical of Cleveland police. He also had his own problems off duty in which anyone else would have been jailed. If you have a gun and a badge, you can do anything you want. And Flask and Jackson are too weak and ineffectual to do anything at all. Wow! 10 days of reading a memo. That will shape up the force!
Either you assholes at the CPD want to work or not. Pretty damn simple. Maybe an independent commission to throw the bastards out is what is needed.
Who knew all these "artsy-fartsies" read Scene magazine!
Whether or not Welser-Most is a good conductor or Rosenberg is a qualified critic, the question remains whether the Plain Dealer bowed to pressure from the orchestra.... it seems they did, again confirming the PD is just not a very good newspaper.
It's funny that the PD hounds politicians for comment yet no one at the PD is around to offer any comment on this story. Shame on the PD.
Great article Mr. Gill. Someone has to watch the supposedly free and open press.
