Cleveland is sorely lacking doughnut shops? Since when?! I've lived in cities with only Dunkin and Krispey Kreme. I've been happy to get back to Cleveland's doughnut shops.
If your assumption is that whites make a neighborhood better just because they are white, you are a racist. Tremont is a mixed bag, as is Ohio City. Detroit Avenue is mixed as well. W. 65 and Detroit is quite different from W 87 and Detroit.
If I had seen that flag I would have assumed that someone local was being mourned, like a cop or firefighter who died in the line of duty. How weird to assume that a major hotel chain would mourn the world's most notorious terrorist. And no, the3dm, the manager should not be fired because the flag flew in the rain. They were taking it down because it was worn, which my nearest fire department doesn't even do. At least this hotel was making an effort, which few people do with their tattered flags. Hardly a firing offense.
For people seeking a more laid back, affordable celebration, join the TweetUp in Tremont at Southside for dinner (9pm) then Prosperity Social Club after.
