I love the Beachland it is defiantely one of the great concert venues in Cleveland. It truly would be a sad day if it closed it's doors. The times that I have been there I definately haven't "toured" the neighborhood as there seems to be nothing else open so in my mind there is no reason to go to that area unless I am going to see a concert. Perhaps businesses in the area can help by being open when the Beachland is at least for doors. As far as House of Blues goes it's a great concert venue as well which is a bigger venue so I don't see it stepping on The Beachland's toes except for when it first came to town. In response to Bob Klass mentinoed above to House of Blues getting tax abatements; tax abatements are usually reserved for property tax, but House of Blues does not own the building so the tax abatements are not taken by them. Plus the Admissions tax works like a sales tax. If there was sales tax paid on the sale of the tickets then the money was sent to the wrong organization. Someone who knows more about tax law needs to step in and help the Beachland, we as a city can't afford to lose them.
