FINALLY! Very exciting possibilities. The location of this neighborhood is fantastic—close to East and West, highway access, University Circle, walking distance from the lake and bike path—and it has good bones. Looking forward to seeing what happens.
I live in North Collinwood too. It is a neighborhood I discovered while house-sitting on the lake a number of years ago. My husband and I met at the Beachland. I love Cleveland (although not the politics!) It would be a true shame if something happened to the Beachland for our neighborhood and for the city at large. Cleveland's art scene should be one if its most prized and protected possessions. A vibrant art scene (along with other things) makes people—young ones—choose a place to live. Wake up, city officials! Help yourself or hurt yourself. It is a crucial time in our remaking.
p.s. A note about geography: North Collinwood, it is as north as it gets. Lake Erie is the Beachland's backyard and it is another one of our biggest assets.
