The Lost in Space robot had a better sense of humor than any of the Space Family Robinson. The only way Dr. Smith could shut him down was to pull out his battery pack. B-9 could have jacked him up with plasma bolts from his pinchers, but didn't because verbally bitch slapping Smith was the only way he could keep from tearing Will's head off every time he said "robutt".
