I am curious about the drive thru. Like fast food?
This guy is unbelievable. He makes the case for a house cleaning at CPD better than any report ever could. Good grief, what an embarrassment to the profession.
"Subsidized transit." Oh brother. The U.S. Government is in the process of bailing out the highway trust fund to the tune of $40 billion because no one is willing to ask drivers for a gas tax increase (it hasn't been raised since 1993, meanwhile 40% inflation). The idea that bus riders are subsidized and drivers aren't is stupidtown. Plus you same people that say TRANSIT IS SUBSIDIZED!! probably whine and cry if you aren't provided free parking everywhere you go.
Cleveland is certainly not leading on public transit -- Calabrese's good performance aside. Cleveland has cut more bus service hours in the last decade than any other major city in the U.S. http://www.tcf.org/blog/detail/magic-disap…
$60 million for the RNC, but RTA's got to nickel and dime its largely low income riders for want of $1.8 million. This is part of the reason why we consistently top poorest cities lists.
There was actually almost riots right after the whole 137 shots incident, is my understanding.
Could we have possibly picked a project that would be a bigger imposition on transit riders? And in the dead of winter. 33 routes.
