There is plenty of parking in the neighborhood for these dinners and more. Probably more than there is in many other popular neighborhoods.
"We want to see this whole area improve. And if they're gonna do that, they've got to make money."
I love how the one moment of sanity from the some (not all) of the whiners not happy with new development, is from a woman who lives in public housing.
It is absolutely right to hold developers' feet to the fire when it comes to their plans for the neighborhood, but don't call them ugly names when they make solid, legitimate improvements to a neighborhood that was otherwise a mess for years before they got there.
Hilary is a rockstar! It's great to see her on this list.
Actually, Daniel, hipstersir is very right. 78th Street is not an art gallery. Even by a dictionary definition, 78th Street is not a gallery. I go to 78th Street nearly every Third Friday. Actually, none of the four nominees are truly a gallery. This category was totally misrepresented. HEDGE is a gallery. Lesko, Sheele, Tregoning, Survival Kit - all galleries at 78th Street. There are dozens of true galleries around town - Bonfoey, Verne, Busta, Shaheen, Gallery 160, Contessa, Convivium, the list goes on (and yes even the one I own). 78th Street is a collective of galleries, studios and businesses and it is a true gem in Cleveland. Not actually having galleries represented in this category is an insult to the dozens of great art galleries in Cleveland and a complete misrepresentation of what our art scene is all about.
Well, genius joeaircare, MA is for Massachusetts, MD is Maryland. Look who is pretty fucking stupid.
