I have lived here for most of my life as well. At one time, I was very proud to say I lived in Lakewood, OH. Not anymore; can't wait to get out. The property taxes are ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS here, all because of the school system. While I understand a good school system is important to a community and real estate value, I have HAD ENOUGH of my property taxes going up EVERY THREE YEARS SINCE 2010!!!!! The voters here just passed ANOTHER SCHOOL LEVY in May of this year and NOW....there is a proposal to put a bond issue for the schools on the ballot in November!!!!!! In years past, I never, ever was afraid to walk alone in my neighborhood in the evening, sure wouldn't do it now. What I see walking up and down my street in broad daylight scares me to death so forget walking in the evening. Could go on and on about what I think of this city and how it's run but won't. CIRCLING THE DRAIN says it all.
