Why do you never suggest cutting the waste???
The wasteful purchase of parking lots that should be investigated by the Feds when the city overpaid.
The waste of money on the administration at the airport.
The waste of money on the recent office renovation for administrators.
The waste of demolition of the long term garage with no sustainable replacement.
The waste of paying FAA fines, when money was budgeted to hire plow drivers.
The waste of $1B in construction in the last decade with little to show for it but a closed terminal and dilapidated facilities.
"But one thing is certain: Hopkins needs to lower its fee structure to attract more airlines but at the same time needs to raise more money from its non-aeronautical revenues to balance the books. Perhaps that's why they have raised the parking fees twice in the past two years (a total of $2.50 a day at city-owned lots)."
