Re: “New Report Shows the Effects of Ohio Resuming Its Renewable Energy Standards

the RPS spurred some $160 in annual state GDP growth

^^ Sure hope that is a typo.

Re: “Cleveland Native and Fast Food Exec Andy Puzder Tapped for Labor Secretary, Which Would Be Great for Robots

What is your point author, that automation is ongoing and inevitable as you assert in paragraph 3 or that Puzder is creating this automation?

Either way the next decade will not be kind to workers/employees. Automation has already begun decimating the workforce. Today there are AI-driven investment account managers, self-driving vehicles, automated cashiers, automated warehouse stock-boys, AI-written financial and sports-articles and on and on.

Silicon Valley tech-tycoons may discuss a welfare-state via Universal Basic Income but who will the machines be making goods and providing services for? Oh well, since VR is here too I'll just go voluntarily plug myself into the Matrix and live out a virtual life as a SIM.

Re: “An Ode to Chain Restaurants as Ruby Tuesday Announces Closures

Would have been nice if you listed the restaurant closings instead of immediately pivoting to yourself. But whatever I guess.

Re: “Mr. Hero is the Scourge of Cleveland's Professional Athletes

I thought Charlie Frye did a stint with Mr Hero before Hoyer.

Re: “Rock Gaming To Take Over Horseshoe Casino, Phase Two Now Almost Certainly Not Happening

Anyone who bought into the grand casino scheme has only their own naivete to blame. It was a scam from the outset. At least we didn't replicate the same error by granting a monopoly to big marijuana this election cycle, maybe voters are learning.

Re: “Tearing Down the City to Save it? New Journal Article Shines Light on Cleveland's "Demolition Coalition"

This is a tough question.

Can I buy the house above for $10k to get off the street or out of an apartment? Sure. But that house will need easily 6x that amount to bring it up to code and modernize. Maintaining an older home is a nightmare emotionally, financially and logistically. All of the wires in your house are no longer supported, cracks in the walls cannot be fixed without a specialist who knows how to lathe with spackle, even the studs in the house are not spaced to modern standards, doors, windows, closets? All custom-sized. The masonry is all rotting away from the inside out as it has outlived it's intended life-span. Money-pit & death-trap all rolled into one.

Better to tear it down and hopefully attract someone who can build anew on the site.
