Re: “John Kasich Says Ohio and U.S. Shouldn't Accept More Syrian Refugees

Congress, the department of homeland security and the FBI have all admitted to the fact that the process of running "security checks" is highly compromised in this situation. Unless someone is on the terror watch list, there is no way to verify who these people purport to be. So yes, they are being medically screened and asked questions like " are you a jihadist", but there is no apparatus in place to verify if their answer is accurate. So Squidly, if your hate hasn't completely overcome your intellect, maybe you can see a slight bit of danger in accepting refugees from a country that has sworn to attack us within our borders. Please see 911 or Paris or Beirut or.........for examples.

Re: “Is W. 25th Bike Lane Buffer on the Wrong Side?

As a bike rider, let me make this clear to you automobile drivers(which I am one). In every circumstance, when there is a collision between a bike and an auto, the cyclist loses(in many circumstances their lives). I know of zero riders who want to get hit by a car. None! Yes, there are idiots. Probably the same proportion that drive cars. But please understand this, most of everything we do when riding on streets that are shared with autos, we do to avoid injury and death. Thanks for doing your part in putting your ego aside and helping us make it home in one piece.

Re: “Voters: Where Did You Get Your Information on Candidates and Issues for this Election?

40% of the country doesn't know who the majority party in the house and senate is. Over 50% can't name the vice-president. I could go on and on. Why are so many people so ignorant? Who benefits from low information voters? How does this hurt our democracy? People who apply to become citizens have to pass a civics test. Why shouldn't someone have to show some signs of civic literacy to vote?

Re: “Kasich Wins Governor Seat, FitzGerald Wins National Acclaim for Worst Campaign in America

After reading some of the more idiotic comments about how Cleveland Scene is in bed with Kasich,
I would have thought the liberal media would have put the blame for FitzGerald's loss on your doorstep.

Re: “Area Man Gives Only Reasonable Interview About Ebola On Record Anywhere

I also have been going to the links that the Ebola deniers( or should I say those who only note facts or partial facts that agree with their world view)
have been providing which note the bodily fluid transmission issue. They need to update to include sweat which the CDC now has acknowledged. Just hanging out waiting for the next reversal or addition.............

Re: “Area Man Gives Only Reasonable Interview About Ebola On Record Anywhere

Contrary to his earlier statement that Ebola CANNOT be transmitted through the air, CDC Director Tom Frieden testified in front of a House subcommittee on 10/16 and said" EVIDENCE does not suggest Ebola is spread through the air". Why the small back track on his previous certainty? CDC has tweeted that Ebola can be transmitted by a cough or sneeze if the saliva or mucus comes in contact with the mouth, eyes or nose. I am very curious as to why some people seem so invested in swallowing the government line to the point that they mock those who aren't?
