A Commemorative Concert

When: Sat., March 29 2014
Generally recognized at the first rock concert, the Moondog Coronation Ball that took place at the old Cleveland Arena on March 21, 1952, was ultimately more riot than rock concert as the show was shut down after crowds spiraled out of control. Every year, Majic 105.7 holds a commemorative concert to acknowledge the original concert’s significance. This year’s line-up includes oldies acts such as Tommy James & the Shondells, John Kay & Steppenwolf, the Family Stone and Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone. While the line-up is a rather motley crew, it fits the bill since Majic tries to recruit the kind of bands that regularly show up on its playlist. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena, and tickets are $37.75 to $67.75. (Niesel)
