The second-annual outing mixes local flavors (beer and cornhole tourneys) with island traditions -- like hula lessons taught by traditional Hawaiian dancers, ono (delicious) treats, and beach volleyball. We really want to celebrate the lake, says Doyle. Whats fun on our shores, with a little island twist.
Look for ladies in grass skirts, leis, and music by local cover band Punch the Clown. A Hawaiian feast includes barbecue chicken, rice pilaf, and a tropical sorbet. Sure, this isnt Hawaii, says Doyle. But its our own kind of summer paradise.
