Straight outta Vegas, five of the best flair bartenders in the world will be doing their thing tonight at the Barley House on West Sixth Street. Joining them will be15 local mixologists, who will be competing in the “Jack Be Quick” Speedrail Competition for the title of City’s Fastest Bartender. Organized by Clevelander Rob Turek — himself an award-winning “flairtender” — the party doubles as a fundraiser for Turek’s 12-year-old son Dakota, who suffers from Landau-Kleffner syndrome, a rare brain disorder. Turek, who says the evening is shaping up to be a fast-paced showcase for the bartender’s art, is particularly psyched about the flair performances. “Let me put it this way: Those guys blow me away!” Doors open at 7 for the bartending contest; that’s followed at 9 by the flair show. “Afterward, it will just turn into a dance party until around 11 p.m.” Admission is $30 at the door. Besides the entertainment, from 7 to 9 p.m. your entry fee snags you food, draft beer, Jack Daniels, and one artisanal cocktail from Cleveland craft bartenders Joe DeLuca and Tobin Northrup. After 9, all drinks are half price. Find details on Facebook.
