The first Friday of every month, the Cleveland Museum of Art hosts a “Mix” party that aims to, as the museum puts it, “explore the concept of form in sculpture, theater, and paper.” Tonight’s performance will certainly live up to billing as MOKAAD, a 11-piece funk collective will do its best to channel the spirits of Sly & The Family Stone and P-Funk. They’ll perform on the lawn in the back of the museum while Ensemble Theatre will perform scenes from Animals Out of Paper, a play about a depressed origami artist, inside the museum. The event starts at 5 p.m. and tickets are $8 advance and $10 day of show. (Niesel)
