Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, an art enthusiast, or just on the prowl for a good time, you’re likely to find something memorable at today’s sixth annual Masterpieces On Main Art & Wine Festival in downtown Kent. Local bands will by playing throughout the day as you browse the eclectic offerings from more than 60 artists. Local wineries — including Wolf Creek Vineyards, Troutman Vineyards, and Viking Vineyards & Winery — will be at hand with some enticing samples of their “art.” And as ballast for all that grapey goodness, food will be available for purchase at Taproot Catering’s pop up bistro It’s also a good opportunity to take in downtown’s unique shops and judge the progress being made in the city’s massive redevelopment projects. “The fact that downtown Kent has gone through so many renovations this year makes the festival very exciting,” says executive director Heather Malarcik. Admission is free, but a wine glass and three tasting tix will cost you ten bucks. It all happens from noon to 10 p.m. at East Main Street and North Water Street in downtown Kent.
