Best Bar to Hook Up With John Carroll and CWRU Students

McNulty's Irish Pub & Grill

Coeds from John Carroll and Case Western Reserve flock to McNulty's, a popular Coventry beer garden. The cavernous wood-paneled bar, decorated with Ohio State, CWRU, and Kent State pennants, was designed with the college student in mind. Drinks are cheap, with daily specials like $1 cosmos and $1 bottles of Coors Light, and there's free pizza on Friday nights from 4-6 p.m. The wooden booths are as worn-looking as the sleep-deprived bouncers. But the biggest draw of McNulty's is the dance floor. In an area roughly the size of a dorm room, female undergrads with sun-streaked hair and tight jeans grind with Polo-wearing frat boys. The high-pitched '80s music blaring from the television-sized speakers tends to block out any attempts at conversation, but that's not what you're here for anyway.
