Put-in-Bay Lakewood

Put-in-Bay Lakewood is best known for its commitment to all things island: Its two large bars are surrounded by a mural of South Bass Island. There are hula hoops hanging randomly throughout and a wooden boat sitting in the middle of things. And it's where local Jimmy Buffett fans and purveyors of the Flabongo, a pink plastic-flamingo beer bong, call home. But before the place got drunk and floated into Lake Erie, it was called Lakewood Lanes. Which now makes it perfect: an island-party tribute connected to 10 lanes of bowling, open until 2 a.m., seven days a week. None of this crazy hourly rental crap, either: An honest nine bucks gets you three games and shoes. During the summer, join the bowling club and earn ferry trips to the real Put-in-Bay, a night's stay at the Commodore Resort, and all the pizza you can eat. They've even got bumper bowling, in case all those Flabongos screw up your aim.
