Best Celebration of Ohio Wines

Vintage Ohio

Thanks to the introduction of new grape varieties and modern processing techniques, Ohio's wines are vastly improved over the second-rate products of yore. And how better to explore these new, improved vintages than at bucolic Lake Farmpark, where wine fans can share notes with like-minded oenophiles, listen to live music, peruse arts and crafts displays, nibble goodies ranging from Italian sausage sandwiches to strawberry crêpes, and sample more than 100 different wines from a score of local wineries? Traditionally, the festival is held the first Friday and Saturday in August; for info on the 2003 event, check out www.ohiowines.org.
