Best Concert-Poster Artist

John Greiner

When Uno Lady needed a poster for a recent CD-release show at Now That's Class, she enlisted local artist John Greiner, who drew a colorful illustration of the oddball singer in the "Officer Pizza" outfit she wore on Halloween a couple of years ago. Greiner even included a drawing of her dog, Mr. Flip Mo Pi. When the Cinematheque showed Died Young, Stayed Pretty, a documentary about indie-rock graphic artists, Greiner came through again, turning in a poster featuring a shell-shocked dude in headphones that impressed the movie's finicky director. Cherished by the city's underground bands (many of whom have tapped the artist for posters over the years), Greiner is a real local treasure. Niesel
