Greek Isles 500 West St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland; 216-861-1919.
Someday we will take a tour of Greece to see the little whitewashed houses, with their sky-blue doors opening out onto the sparkling Mediterranean. We shall climb the hill to the Parthenon. We shall study ancient sculptures. And then, come twilight, we shall toast the night with anise-scented ouzo and dance beneath the stars with Zorba. Until that time, however, we must satisfy our ethnic passions with trips to church festivals, old copies of National Geographic, and frequent stops at the Greek Isles. From the flaming saganaki to the creamy pastitsio to the custard-filled galaktobouriko, the food at this crisply decorated Warehouse District restaurant never fails to satisfy our inner traveler.
