O'Armour's Hot Dog Heaven
O'Armour's has been an after-school staple for Amherst high school students since 1976. A short walk up the Washington Avenue hill from the school, the restaurant rightfully crows about its $1.49 dog with melted cheddar cheese. Top it off with O'Armour's signature spicy homemade chili sauce, and it's no damned wonder they call it Hot Dog Heaven. It's even Wal-Mart-worthy: The retailer now sells two-pound tubs of the sauce at stores throughout the Midwest.
