Keep in mind we're talking technical aspects of the moviegoing experience here: the seats, the sound system, the access to keg-sized buckets of fresh popcorn. We're not talking the choice of movies being shown. This is not about the merits of independent cinema vs. Hollywood blockbusters, foreign vs. domestic. With its huge theaters, stadium seating, and the kind of sound system that could tear the siding off your house, there is simply no place better to revel in the mindless cotton candy Hollywood serves up every week than Cinemark Valley View. It also doesn't hurt that, with quick access to both I-480 and I-77, you can get there pretty fast from most places. Now, about the decision to show Planet of the Apes on seven screens . . .
