These days, if you don't have outdoor seating, you might as well take the summer off. The past few years have seen the introduction of more patios, verandas, porches, and sidewalk seating areas than all previous years combined. Better still, the offerings continue to improve. Take Felice's new patio, for example: Christened this summer, the outdoor hideaway isn't so much large as it is drop-dead gorgeous. At the heart of it all is the old garage, reworked into a classy outdoor bar with bright-red barn siding and large doors that slide out of the way. Drinking here feels a bit like drinking in a friend's hunting cabin — if your friend happened to be Paul Newman. On either side of the garage are additional seating areas, one covered and the other open-air. A lush, verdant vegetable garden lends a pastoral charm to this otherwise urban setting. Sigh — if only summer lasted 12 months.
